The Boy in the Plastic Bubble [DVD] [1976]

John Travolta starred in this tele film at the height of his Welcome Back Kotter fame and just before his Oscar nominated turn in Saturday Night Fever which would be the role that ensured his status as one of the most bankable stars in history. Here he plays a teen who is forced to live in a "bubble" due the fact that since birth, he cannot be exposed to germs. The film co stars Travolta's then girlfriend Diana Hyland as his mother, Brady dad Robert Reed as his father, and Glynis O'Connor as the girl next door that he falls for. Nicely directed by Grease director Randal Kleiser, the film is a nicely told tale based very loosely on a real life story. Great ending theme song by Paiul Williams. Travolta is truly great here.
