Great 2-in-1 device for dental hygiene
|Posted .WaterPik Sonic-Fusion 2.0 is the second generation of a flossing toothbrush (toothbrush and water flosser in 1 device) designed for dental hygiene in a more convenient way. Its very easy to use and store compared to other products where you need 2 devices. What’s in the box: Sonic Fusion 2 flossing toothbrush, 1 Brush head, 1 Brush head cover, 1 Travel Case. Sonic Fusion 2.0 comes in 2 variants – Standard and professional model. This review is for the Standard Sonic Fusion 2.0 – White – SF-03W010-1. I do have the previous version Sonic Fusion 1.0 and the key noticeable differences are on the flossing water flow rate(12 ounces per minute vs 15 ounces in SF2.0), Speed(has 2 speed compared to 1 in first gen), Reservoir(holds 1 extra ounces of water compared to last gen), weighs less compared to first gen, most noticeable change is the battery life due to the Lithium-ion compared to the NIMH on first gen. This model has 3 cleaning modes (Brush, Floss, Brush&Floss), 10 pressure settings, Auto power off, 2-minute timer. Setting up and using the sonic fusion 2.0 is simple. Fill the tank/reservoir with lukewarm water. Attach the hose if using the flossing option if not detach the toothbrush handle. Using the dial on the unit, adjust the pressure of water flossing (suggest starting with lowest setting). Press the floss button, aim water at 90-degree angle and start flossing. On the toothbrush handle there are 3 indicator lights to indicate the battery level. Pros: Flosser and Toothbrush combo stylish design, 2-minute timer, 10 different pressure settings, Auto power off, 3 modes (brush, floss, brush and floss), 2 toothbrush speeds (high – low) Cons: Not very portable design(flosser) for travel, Battery life not great compared to other brands Overall, this is a good device if you need an easy to use and store 2- in -1 device for flossing and brushing and to maintain great dental hygiene.

Excellent Comination of Functions
|Posted .When a manufacturer or product designer tries to make a single device “multifunctional” a flashing yellow light goes off in my head and I wonder: what compromises had to be made in the quality of materials or functionality? Was this decision made to make the functions more easily accessible to the user, or was this a marketing ploy with cost-cutting as the goals. It was with these concerns that I unpacked the Waterpik SF-03 combination electric brush and oral irrigator (water floss). First impression: a lot of thought went into the design. It’s compact, but no so much that the controls are not easy to see and use. It’s attractive with a nice modern, clean look. I was delighted by the clear, easily readable instruction, but for the most part they were unneeded as the setup was easy and quick. The only “delay” was the recommend 4-hour charge for the brush’s lithium battery. As for my concern about compromised functionality, I had no need to fear! The brush has 2 speeds, easily switchable from a designated button on the handle. The head is comfortable to use and easy to remove or replace. The brush handle can be used independently of the flossing base and can either be attached or not to the reservoir “hose.” (Again, as with the other functions, attaching the hose to the brush is literally a snap and there is a discreet button that instantly releases it.) There are 3 buttons on the brush handle: the aforementioned speed control, “Brush,” and “Floss.” The user does not need to look at the handle to make choices as each button has a distinct location and texture. As noted, brushing is comfortable and easy. The user has the option of flossing while brushing or following. The floss pressure control located on the side of the base, like the rest of this unit, is clear and easy to use. (I found it better to use the floss function after brushing as the water washed away the toothpaste quickly.) The manufacturer has provided a travel case for the brush handle and 2 brush heads. My only negative is that it is significantly larger than similar ones from other brands, and might challenge those who travel only with a carry-on bag. (See photo: the Waterpik is on the right.) That’s about the only nit I can pick. In sum, an excellent product that does what it promises.

Gently relentless brushing + power water flossing
|Posted .Waterpik Sonic-Fusion 2.0 I’ve used several types of powered tooth brushes over the years and I think it’s fair to rank the newest Waterpik Sonic-Fusion as one of the more effective oral hygiene devices. The Waterpik combines a gently relentless brush head to clean and polish my teeth along with a pressurized water stream to blast away food debris from between my teeth and trapped near the gums. OPERATION and PERFORMANCE: Charge your assembled brush and water supply for a few hours. PRIMING the water flossing features required only a few seconds of dialed up water pressure with the FLOSS BUTTON enabled. Turn off the FLOSS feature before you begin. The BRUSH feature has 2 speeds. At first it seems like the soft brush and narrow vibration angle is not adequately aggressive. Use the Waterpik a few times for a full cleaning cycle and I think you’ll feel differently. As I got comfortable with applying pressure to my teeth and orienting the brush for maximum contact I could feel how effective the brushing is. I was especially impressed after I ran my tongue across my cleaned teeth. Kind’a felt similar to after a dentist cleaning visit. Either directly after a BRUSH cycle or towards the end I enabled the FLOSS feature. Make sure you’ve got at least a half to full water tank. It looks like it holds 16oz of water and I use half of that for a flossing session. A focused and strong steam of water thoroughly blew away any residual food from between my teeth. You can choose to leave the brush on or off. Also, there is a quick release button at the bottom brush unit if you want to disconnect from the water reservoir. (It won’t leak.) SUMMARY: This is a nice addition to the powered toothbrush category. It requires a somewhat different brushing technique to properly align the brush to achieve maximum tooth contact with the rapidly vibrating brush. You also need to coordinate those button presses so you know when that stream of water is about to fill your mouth. It become second nature pretty quickly. It also leaves you with a confident feeling about your dental health. I can recommend the Waterpik highly.

Makes flossing easy
|Posted .This is my first experience with a water flosser and it’s definitely better than traditional flossing. I’ve always hated flossing, this system makes me hate it less! When flossing with this, my mouth feels like when I have my teeth cleaned at the dentist. The unit itself is much smaller than it appears and that’s a good thing if you have a small bath vanity like I do. It has 2 speed settings for the brush and 10 pressure settings for the flow of the water from the flosser. The toothbrush can be used independent and comes with a travel case. I couldn’t find anything about battery life for when using the toothbrush without the unit, but another battery powered toothbrush I have last two weeks without a charge. The only two criticisms I have is it can be a little noisy when using it to floss and it only comes with one brush head and it’s the small one. Flossing sucks, a water flosser makes it suck less!

Good Product with Minor Inconveniences
|Posted .My wife has wanted a combo flosser/toothbrush for a while now so when this came out, she decided to give it a shot. Overall, a decent product with some nice features. A couple things to note as she opened it up. The brush head was very soft...much softer than the medium she uses now. You can buy replacement heads, but they only offer soft brush heads. Second, plan to charge the brush before the first use. The toothbrush looks like a standard wireless brush with a battery built into the handle. Even though you need to have it plugged in to use the water flosser, the toothbrush uses the built-in battery. Next, if you have a sensitivity to cold water, you will want to fill up the reservoir with warm water before each use. My wife mentioned that it hurt a little when she used cold water the first time. She fills it with warm water before each use and ends up using about half the container per use. Regarding using the brush/floss feature itself. The guide says you can use the toothbrush and flosser at the same time...well you could, but you are just going to wash away all the tooth paste. What my wife does is brush her teeth completely and then use the combo brush/floss afterwards. Last thing to note, you are spraying water in your mouth when using the flosser. When you see the commercials for this, they never show a person actually using the water flossing piece. That is because it is a little messy. If you turn it the wrong way, you get water all over your counter or mirror or yourself. :) You need to keep your mouth open and let the water flow out as you floss. Overall, a good product and my wife would recommend it. There are some minor inconveniences with it, but she plans to continue to use it regularly.

Too messy
|Posted .I was really excited to test this product. It seems like a great idea but just doesn’t deliver. The first thing I noticed is that it matters how you position on your bathroom counter. Our only space is to the left where the outlet is. If I was left-handed, it would have worked better. Being right-handed the cord had to stretch across the sink and kept pulling my hand as I brushed. After 3 days of use the cord is now stretched and doesn’t fit as nice in the base. They also include only one brush head. How many of you will share this unit? If you have more than one person using it, where will you store the extra heads? They give you a travel type case that is large BUT the charger is built into the base unit so you would have to take the whole thing with you. Draining all of the water out of the unit and cord is a challenge. I tried and then laid it on paper towels and they were damp. The next set was damp too. The brush head is small. It does brush well but takes longer and you have to position it just right. Brushing and flossing controls are on the brush unit but are slippery once you start drooling down the unit. It gets very sloppy when flossing. Flossing works but you have to be careful as you can use too much pressure. On the first use I tested on the back of my hand and started low when in my mouth. Changing speeds is difficult once you have toothpaste and water on your hands. The tank lasts 60 - 90 seconds depending on speed. Others really seem to like this unit but I was disappointed. It is messy and takes longer than my other electric toothbrush. For the price, the toothbrush should be portable. NOTE: I received this product in exchange for my fair and unbiased review.

Great Waterpik
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I previously owned this Sonic-Fusion but it did not have the speed button, which is a good addition. I loved that you can brush and floss at the same time. This Waterpik has a dial on the side that allows you to adjust the intensity of the flossing stream. I think this is really great as I have a couple teeth that is more sensitive than my other teeth. This dial allows me to adjust the water stream strength as I am flossing.

Q: QuestionI always put warm water in the part for flossing but the water feels very cold when it goes into my mouth. Does anyone else have that problem?
Asked by debbie.
- A:Answer I use hot water and that seems to solve my problem. I do find this new Brush/Flosser design to be very inferior to the older style, the Water-Pic design. I kept my old one and use it now rather than the new one. So disappointed in this new style. For a small mouth, the Water Pic is much more effective. After brushing/flossing with the "Infusion" I used my old Water Pic and still found food particles that had not been flushed out with the Water Pic Infusion. When I can afford it, I will purchase the design with both a Pic and a flosser brush.

Q: QuestionCan you use the toothbrush alone without the water cord?
Asked by Santa.
- A:Answer The toothbrush easily detaches from the base, and will hold a charge for a few days of use. A nice plastic carrying case for it is included. But, you can't recharge it without the flosser base.

Q: QuestionQ: Is there a battery included that can be used instead of electric power? Can we use this item in countries overseas that use 220 V?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The Sonic-Fusion does not contain a battery in the water flosser portion. To use the flossing portion it will need to be plugged into an active electrical outlet. However, it is global voltage and can be used with 220v.
