Q: Is the geek squad warranty transferable

A: Transferring a warranty is not nearly as easy as this makes it sound. I had the receipt and the previous owners info, but that was not good enough. I had to bug the previous owner and have them call to transfer it. They told the owner it would take 2-3 days. 4 days later I called and it was not transferred. They made it sound like it would take 4 more days but gave me a case number and said they would be able to set up a repair with that. I was transferred back to the repair department and they informed me I had to wait for it to be under my name. Now I am stuck waiting until Best Buy decides I deserve to use the protection plan. Horrible customer service!

Q: Is the protection plan good for the remote control as well? If so can I got to any best buy. Or doni have to go the the one store I bought it from?

A: You can go to any best buy store to purchase the warranty, and yes, you get 1 free controller replacement as long as it's within the 2 years.
