This brand new 1/43 scale diecast model of the German Sd. Kfz. 186 Jagdpanzer VI Jagdtiger Heavy Tank Destroyer #211 with Henschel Turret, representing Schwere Panzerjäger Abteilung 512, Germany, 1945, is produced by AFVs of WWII and comes in the manufacturer’s original unopened box. It features a detailed exterior, true-to-scale detail, and is made of diecast metal with some plastic parts. The model comes in a plastic display showcase and does not have any openings, with dimensions approximately L-9.5, W-3.25, H-2.75 inches. Early in 1943, orders were given to design a heavy, self-propelled anti-tank gun combining a 12.8cm gun with a Tiger II chassis. On October 20th, 1943, a wooden mock-up of the massive vehicle was presented to OKH planners, who authorized a prototype to be completed by April 1944. Two Jagdtigers were built with the Porsche-designed longitudinal torsion-bar suspension, which proved unsatisfactory during field testing, delaying production. The initial production run was set at 150 vehicles, but an October 1944 order shifted production to the Panther. This decision was reversed in January 1945, resuming Jagdtiger assembly as quickly as possible.
