About This Item

This brand new 1/43 scale diecast model of the M26 (T26E3) Tank "U.S.A. 2nd Armored Division, Germany, April 1945" by AFVs of WWII comes in the manufacturer’s original unopened box and includes a plastic display showcase. The model features a detailed exterior, true-to-scale detail, and is officially licensed. It does not have any openings and is made of diecast metal with some plastic parts. Dimensions are approximately L-7.75, W-3, H-3.5 inches. The M26 Pershing was a heavy/medium tank of the United States Army, named after General John J. Pershing, and saw service in the final months of World War II during the Invasion of Germany and extensively in the Korean War. Intended as a replacement for the M4 Sherman, only a small number saw combat in Europe due to prolonged development. Historian R. P. Hunnicutt ranked the Pershing behind the German Tiger II but ahead of the Tiger I and Panther. Withdrawn in 1951 in favor of the M46 Patton, its lineage continued through the M47, M48, and M60 Patton series. The T26E3 was the production version of the T26E1, incorporating minor field-tested modifications, and in February 1945 it was deployed in the European Theater, receiving early praise from Army Ordnance officials.

AFV's of WWII - M24 "Chaffee" Tank #3 "U.S.A. 1st Armored Division Italy April 1945" 1/43 Diecast Model by AFVs of WWII - Green

This brand new 1/43 scale diecast model of the M24 "Chaffee" Tank #3, representing the U.S.A. 1st Armored Division in Italy, April 1945, is produced by AFVs of WWII and comes in the manufacturer’s original unopened box. It features a detailed exterior, true-to-scale detail, and is made of diecast metal with some plastic parts. The model comes in a plastic display showcase and does not have any openings. Dimensions are approximately L-5, W-2.5, H-2.5 inches. The M24 Chaffee, considered one of the best light tanks of World War II, was fast, lightly armored, and capable of delivering relatively large caliber fire with its 75 mm M6 gun. Over 4,000 units were produced by Cadillac and Massey-Harris from 1943-45, with the first vehicles reaching Europe in late 1944, where they proved effective and reliable. During the Korean War, American forces equipped with M24 Chaffees struggled against T-34/85s and were later supported by M26 Pershings, M46 Pattons, and M4A3E8 Shermans. The Chaffee remained in American service until 1953 and was subsequently used by many American allies, including the French army in Indo-China at the battle of Dien Bien Phu. Though largely obsolete by the mid-1960s, it remained in service in some client nations.
