Overall this monitor is the perfect answer for anyone looking for a gaming monitor that can also be used for work and playing media. I have three Dell 4k ultra sharp monitors that I use daily for work, they are great for doing office related apps but they are too slow to use as a gaming monitor. This Alienware 4k monitor is nearly as sharp as my Ultra Sharp displays but it has refresh rates that make this also a great gaming monitor. Pros: - The IPS display is bright with deep color saturation - Consistent white screen for office applications like Word - It’s got a wide viewing angle - Variable refresh rates for 4k @180hz and HD @ 360hz - OSD button is easy to access and use - Total control of display and gaming options via OSD - Lots of ports HDMI, Display Port and USBs, supports eARC HDMI - Versatile stand and VESA compatible for mounting Cons: - Doesn’t deliver the darks that an OLED monitor would - If you buy one you will want two or three more After cabling up the monitor I verified its quality by running the EIZO and UFO display test. No dead pixels and the color ranges were bright and consistent. The white was bright without any off shading which really is nice when using office apps. I familiarized myself with the OSD menus and set the monitor up for gaming, touched up the brightness a tad and then started playing my games. I like racing games so having the ability to run HD at the higher refresh rate really seemed to make the images more stable. The colors really stood out in F1 2023 and the detail was sharp when playing Dirt Rally. To really check out the 4k capabilities I played several 4k videos and the images were very smooth without stuttering or pixelizating. Bottom line is this is great monitor no matter what you are wanting to do. This monitor has great specs with a 4k resolution of 3840 x 2160 @ 180 hz as well as being able to support HD 1920 x 1080 with a super fast refresh rate of 360 hz. It is an IPS display panel with a reasonably quick 0.5ms response time. The bezel is narrow but slightly thicker on the bottom than my Dell monitors as seen in the photo. It has two HDMI ports with one supporting eARC to pass through audio. It supports both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for people like me that use a soundbar for gaming. It also has a DisplayPort, one USB-B upstream port, three USB-A downstream ports and one USB-C downstream port. The stand is very flexible and allows you to move the monitor in all directions to offset any alignment issues. The monitor has a headphones clip built in on the left hand side which is good as long as this is your leftmost monitor.

The Alienware AW2725QF 27’’ IPS LED 4K Dual-Resolution Gaming Monitor is a fantastic monitor that comes with an interesting but somewhat niche feature to function either as a UHD 4K monitor capable of running at 180 Hz or as a FHD 1080p monitor capable of running at 360 Hz. At first, I didn’t understand this feature because I have always been able to run my games at a lower resolution (such as 1080p) on any high resolution 4K monitor. Any graphics card can do this. Why is this even considered a feature on a monitor? However, when I investigated this feature a bit more, I began to understand the reasoning for implementing it. If you use the graphics card to run a game at 1080p resolution on a regular 4K monitor, you are limited by that monitor for the refresh rate at 4K. In the case of the new Alienware AW2725QF monitor, if you set the monitor to run as a FHD 1080p monitor, you are able to increase the refresh rate from 180 Hz to 360 Hz. The Alienware AW2725QF uses a true 4K display panel. When running as a FHD monitor, it essentially treats every group of 4 pixels as 1 big pixel and the hardware is able to refresh each big pixel at a faster refresh rate. This technique essentially gives us one affordable monitor that can excel at productivity work and media consumption when running in 4K mode while also excelling in competitive gaming when running in FHD mode where higher refresh rates offer a competitive advantage. You just place the neck stand into the base and tighten the attached screw handle. No tools were needed. I also appreciated the design of the box to allow attaching the completed stand to the monitor while the monitor is still safely in the box. The stand clicks securely into the back of the monitor and once connected you can safely lift the monitor out of the box by the stand. Overall, this was probably the easiest physical setup of a monitor I have ever experienced. The included stand allows for tilt, swivel, and height adjustment along with the ability to rotate the display between landscape and portrait orientations to enable the creation of the perfect workspace environment. The Alienware AW2725QF also offers great connectivity by supporting 3 different source inputs and lots of USB ports. Support for Dolby Vision and HDMI eARC also means this will be a great monitor for gaming consoles. Performance and User Experience The Alienware AW2725QF performs extremely well in UHD 4K mode. Colors were rich, bright and vibrant and text was super sharp. In UHD 4K mode, this monitor excels in productivity and media consumption tasks such as programming, reading/writing emails, web browsing, and watching videos and playing games. While watching videos, I discovered one surprising feature that was missing from this monitor. The Alienware AW2725QF doesn’t have any built-in speakers or any audio/headphone jack. I have a somewhat unusual setup where I have multiple computers sharing a single monitor, keyboard and mouse through a HDMI KVM switch so for my situation, it is very useful to have speakers on the monitor. For audio support, there is an HDMI port that supports eARC so it’s possible to connect a small HDMI soundbar for sound. It should also be possible to use a USB audio adapter or USB digital speaker connected to one of the monitor’s USB ports for sound although I didn’t test this. Luckily, one of the computers I have connected to the KVM switch is a laptop so I was able to use the laptop’s built-in speakers for sound. You can switch operating modes (UHD 4K or FHD 1080p mode) by pressing the joystick menu button for about 2 seconds. When you do that, the connected computer thinks you physically attached a new monitor to it. You can also download the Dell Display Manager application to customize and control the settings of the monitor. I did not get a chance to try this out. I was very curious about how the Alienware AW2725QF would look like when running In FHD 1080p mode and how it compares to using the graphics card to produce a 1080p display when running in UHD 4K mode. Overall, the display running in FHD 1080p mode looks about the same as when using your graphics card to display a 1080p image on a UHD 4K monitor. I didn’t really see any difference when it comes to graphics. However, if you look more closely at text, you can notice the text to be slightly more blocky with slightly better contrast in FHD 1080p mode compared to UHD 4K mode. Using the graphics card to display a 1080p image in UHD 4K mode produces text that is smoother and softer. This is because the graphics card can produce text using anti-aliasing techniques since it has full access to every pixel in the 4K display. I played Black Myth Wukong at 1080p on the monitor and I was very impressed. Image quality was great and the game was very enjoyable on this monitor. At first I noticed some minor tearing but once I enabled nVidia G-Sync on my laptop’s RTX 4060 graphics card, I did not see any more tearing so this feature seems to work really well. I played the game using both FHD 1080p mode and UHD 4K mode (while setting the graphics resolution to 1080p) and didn’t notice any image quality or performance difference. I am not a competitive gamer, so I will probably be mostly using the monitor in UHD 4K mode as the type of games I typically enjoy (X-COM 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, Black Myth Wukong, Marvel Midnight Suns etc.) don’t really need super high refresh rates. Summary The Alienware AW2725QF produces a beautiful image with bright, vibrant, rich colors along with razor sharp text. It offers plenty of connections and the included stand is very flexible for creating the perfect workspace environment. Support for Dolby Vision and HDMI eARC also makes this monitor great for a gaming console. The Alienware AW2725QF has a unique ability to also function as a lower resolution monitor (FHD 1080p) that offers higher refresh rates (up to 360 Hz) for those who are into competitive gaming and need the highest rates possible. Overall, I can easily recommend the Alienware AW2725QF to anyone looking for a new UHD 4K gaming monitor that is also excellent for productivity and media consumption.

The Alienware 27 4K Dual-Resolution Gaming Monitor - AW2725QF is an extremely nice monitor that has several nice features and a few challenging limitations. The most intriguing feature is its Dual-resolution capabilities that allow it to run at one of 2 refresh rates. It can run at a resolution of 3840 x 2160 with a refresh rate of up to 180 Hz (4K mode) (overclock up to 180 Hz) or it can run at a 1920 x 1080 resolution with a refresh rate of up to 360 Hz (FHD mode) (overclock up to 360 Hz). The first mode prioritizes details in the games and the second prioritizes fast gameplay. Additionally, the monitor is NVIDIA® G-SYNC® Compatible and comes with VESA AdaptiveSync certification allowing for stutter-free, tear-free and crystal-clear graphics in both modes. Finally, its 0.5ms gray-to-gray response time reduces blurring and ghosting in both modes. While is primary appeal is to gamers, especially those who game in the high framerate action style games; it does have uses for business users as well – especially designers and creatives doing color work. The native brightness mode is a bit dimmer than my other monitors in my set up, but I have yet to make fine adjustments to it. Two words of caution and a lesson learned from my experience so far. First - Make sure that the monitor has all the capabilities that are important to you by reading the actual manual. In my case this was that the monitor does support VESA mounting – which I prefer. Second, my tower that I use as one of my two main computers is a bit dated and apparently it graphics card does not like booting with this monitor set in the FHD @ 360Hz mode, but boots fine with the monitor in its 4K mode with the 3840X2160 resolution.

I've owned more monitors than any one person has a right to have owned in their lifetime, and I have to say this Alienware monitor ranks at the top of them all. Packaging: To start, it's extremely well packaged, the box is very heavy and comes with all of the essentials. It comes with both displayport and hdmi cables so there's no need to go hunting for your own, this is uncommon to have both (sometimes monitors dont even come with one) so it's nice to have the option. Setup: About as straightforward as you can imagine, the monitor just rocks onto the stand and clicks in place, it has multiple HDMI inputs and a DP input, and it natively supports both 4k and 1080p resolutions based on your need. In my opinion, at 27" the 4k option, while 'nice to have' is somewhat difficult to use and not terribly useful. In Windows you just end up jacking up the desktop scaling to be able to see things properly, and in games, while it's "nice" it's mostly just a brag at this size that it's 4k. The 1080p option appears to be far more useful both in desktop and in games, being able to drive it at 360hz may give you an edge that other players dont have, if your graphics card can support it. It's one of the higher refresh rates on the market. Final note is there's a very cool E7 LED lit graphic on the backside of the monitor. Gaming: As I stated, while 4k at 180hz is 'nice to have' the 1080p x 360hz option is really where it's at, it'll give you smooth crisp images and it's compatible with both gsync and freesync so no matter if you're team red or team green, you'll have solid refresh rates sync'd with your graphics card without issue. In high paced racing games I saw no tearing or sheering, same with FPSes like COD, Fortnite and others, it was a perfectly smooth and crisp experience. It's beyond a beautiful monitor, and again, if 4k is your bag, then by all means, it's capable. You can also easily switch between the two if you'd prefer it on in one instance and off in another. Overall: You really can't go wrong with this monitor unless 27" is just too small for your needs, with the dual resolution capability and the high refresh rate at both resolutions, it's going to be more monitor than most people's graphics cards can drive at high detail, it's a good option to futureproof yourself while also having the capabilities to be one of the best available today at any resolution. I easily recommend it.

I wanted to give it a few days to compair this Alienware monitor compaired to my ASUS monitor. So as in the picture the settings on both monitors were done by a HD app you can download on microsofts website. They were both set up with identical settings so you can compair the color quality and black and whit quality. I think both are very good neither wins hands down. But as you can see in the Asus monitor the white is a bit brighter. I to think the Asus on the right does have better vibrint colors that pop out at you but the Alienware does have good colors also. The black on the Alienware was very deep so the black is nice and dark when needed to be. The Alienware does have a very crisp picture. All in all i did not find any issues with the color or picture of the alienware monitor. Picture quality is actually very good. The peak nits on the white is like 649 and the peak on my Asus is 1,130 so that also mite the difference im seeing in the whites. Watched a few movies on it and the quality was very good. It does do 180 Mhz refresh rate and for gameing thats very good. It does go up and down, tilts in and out and does swivel left and right so it's got all the adjustibility you will need. For a 27 inch it's a bit pricey and thats really my only complaint becuae i think your paying more for the name. It also has dolby vision HDR so the picture is very nice. But again you can get a bigger monitor for the same price. Do i recomend this monitor. Well if you have a bigger budget then definatly yes but if your looking for a bigger monitor with probably less quality picure then no. You do get what you pay for but i think in the case of this monitor you are getting a great picture great quality but a bit pricey for a 27 inch screen.

Review: Ive always loved Alienware and was really excited to get this monitor. Assembly is easy as well as hooking it up. It’s a bit different from other monitors I’ve had in the past as all of my other monitors have been OLED screens which are great and I prefer them for HDR, contrast and video quality. But those tend to be a little pricer, when I got this Alienware monitor I noticed right away it was 4k and 180HRz and can be over clocked in 1080p to 360hrz. It’s a very flexible display good for my work from home job (healthcare data entry), E-sports and image quality. Everything you need comes in the box connection wise and the instructions are easy to read and follow via set up. On the underside of the computer you’ll find your USB-C inputs along with a node that allows for you to fiddle with the screen settings without a mouse which I thought was neat. After setting everything up and plugging it in I played some games to test and I was quite happy with how everything looked. I had to adjust the sizing of how everything appeared on my screen but other than that games like; Sims 4, Helldivers, Phasmophobia, Fortnite and Age of Mythology ran fantastically and the 4k added a smidge of immersion. Overall a versatile and works great if you play games for hours on end.

Their newest monitor Alienware - AW2725QF 27" IPS LED 4K UHD 180Hz .5-ms FreeSync Dual-Resolution Gaming Monitor with HDR is no exception. The first thing Alienware markets when you search for this monitor is the fact that you can switch over to full high definition, resolution (FHD) or 4K with a touch of a button. At 1080p resolution you can go up to 360Hz. Or another way to look at this is you can get 360 frames per second. The more frame per second the smoother gameplay will be. By the way, 360 frames per second is insane. On 4K resolution, you can go up to 180Hz. Ultimately all this is determined by your PC, but if you have a high-end PC then everything can be achieved. The monitor comes with its own very sturdy stand, but can be mounted as well. The plastic around the monitor is super thin and overall there is about a 1 cm bezel around the whole monitor. Very sleek and well made. One surprised I noticed was that there is a gaming headset holder that comes out of the monitor. This is something I would definitely use myself (view pic). With a 0.5 millisecond responce time you know this thing is super fast, other features include two HDMI ports, one Display port. Dolby Vision, different cables come included in the box like an HDMI cable, etc. there’s a lot you can adjust and tinker with in the menus, and luckily navigating them is very straightforward and easy. You can play consoles on this too as well absolutely no problems.

The Alienware monitor is absolutely beautiful. Image clarity is tack sharp and colorful even when compared to a newer gaming monitor I recently installed. I can see details so sharp and clearly with no noticeable pixels. It’s also giving me huge upgrade vibes over the monitor it replaced. I’ve used several high-res and OLED monitors over the years, but this is by far one of the better quality panels that I’ve used. The packaging was easy to open without damaging or unnecessarily disturbing the contents. The convenient in-box stand assembly was both easy and less hazardous to the display than an out of box assembly. It allowed me to keep the display side of the panel safely in its shipping position during assembly and until ready to use. All of this was helped by clear, concise, easy to follow assembly instructions. Several different cables are bundled in, including: HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-A 3.0. Image quality in both gaming and desktop use is fantastic. The 4K 180Hz display is vivid with crisp sharpness and gorgeous color saturation. The 1080P is pretty crisp as well. The panel is free of any noticeable defects like stuck pixels, light bleed, clouding or ghosting and there is no noticeable blur or latency while gaming at high speed. This monitor has no trouble keeping up with every game played on it so far, from largely obscure indie titles to mega-popular AAA titles. I also use it for digital art which briefly led to my only minor issue. I wanted to play around with the presets since I need to adjust different colors for art. However, the monitor won’t let me change anything in the presets with HDR being active. It works fine if I disable HDR. I’ll do so eventually if circumstances require, but I’m fine for now with the current image quality. The monitor feels well constructed and is nicely designed. The lighting accents are just right without looking overly loud or tacky. The bottom center joystick can be a little tricky sometimes, but other buttons are fine. The body feels solid with no creaking or flex in the plastic. Overall verdict, it looks good, has beautiful image quality and feels sturdily built.

This monitor is the perfect monitor for individuals who work from home, such as myself. I often spend hours looking at Excel spreadsheets, reading contracts, writing code, and preparing reports, so a high-resolution monitor is a must. Currently, I’m using a 49” ultra-ultrawide monitor I purchased three years ago, but it only offers a standard 1080p (1K) resolution. My primary reason for choosing that monitor was to have two full-sized Excel spreadsheets side by side during the workday, with the flexibility to game after hours. However, as I approach 40, I’ve noticed a decline in my ability to focus for long stretches of time, especially when working with detailed programs. That’s where the Alienware AW27 comes in. It’s the perfect blend of productivity and performance. The jump to 4K resolution has made a huge difference in my daily work, while still offering the fast refresh rates needed for gaming after hours. Though I’ve only been using this monitor for less than a week, I’m already considering purchasing one or two more to replace my current ultra-ultrawide setup. The improvement in my work experience has been immediate. I frequently struggle with eye strain and headaches from extended hours at my desk, but I’ve already noticed a reduction in both since switching to this monitor. Display Quality - The display itself is nothing short of fantastic. The colors are vibrant, and the smoothness of the refresh rate is unlike anything I’ve experienced before. At first, the fluidity of motion was almost disorienting, as I’ve never used a monitor with such a high refresh rate. Switching between display modes is simple — just hold the central button for 2 seconds, and it quickly transitions. I was initially concerned about toggling between modes, especially since I use this monitor as my secondary display, but so far the toggling between modes has been seamless with no issues. Extra Features - The monitor also has a range of useful features, including the ability to replicate both USB-A and USB-C ports. Additionally, you can hide cables into the base for a clean look. Things to Note - While the monitor is exceptional overall, there are a few things to note. Despite trying both HDMI and DisplayPort with high-quality cables, I haven’t been able to reach the advertised refresh rate of 180Hz (4K) or 360Hz (1K). The highest I’ve managed is 165Hz at 4K or 330Hz at 1K, even though my RTX 4090 is more than capable of running this monitor at its full potential. Another issue I encountered was with the monitor being recognized as a secondary display. Despite swapping it out with my old secondary monitor, my computer initially struggled to detect it properly, and wouldn't display the monitor when running duals. This took a bit of troubleshooting to resolve. Conclusion - Overall, the Alienware AW27 is an incredible monitor that strikes a perfect balance between productivity and gaming. The display quality, refresh rate, and design features make it ideal for individuals, who like me, work from home.

The Alienware AW2725QF 27" IPS monitor is a superior product. No concerns with shipping this product to yourself, as the packaging is extremely well done and mine arrived in mint condition. This powerhouse is a bit heavy because of the solid design. The stand is terrific. It can move up/down to your desired height and will stay put where you leave it. The stand base is perfectly designed to ensure the unit is very stable on your table or desk. So along with great specs it has a well thought out physical design. I tried to make it unstable but it was always solid; very nice design work and a tip of the cap to the engineers who did this stand design (stand performance is a particular emphasis for me since I get a bit animated at times, and am clumsy sometimes). This is a 4K monitor so it will be 4 times the pixels of a normal full high-definition screen and it does display small letters/numbers as well as animated graphics the best I’ve seen. I did notice when I first installed it that the demo screen came up. All you need to do to dismiss this, is touch the joystick under the middle bottom of the screen. It took me a few minutes to figure that out. The specifications are very strong so it is wonderful for fast-paced high-graphic video games. Response time is .5 ms for this beautiful IPS LED screen. It is great for 4K movies as well as games; the movies really popped. It is not an OLED display, however the price tradeoff was better for me as OLED is much more expensive. You do have the 180 Hz Refresh Rate and Freesync which ensured crisp animation for every game I tried. You also have 2 HDMI Ports if you like split screen gaming. Other ports included a Display Port and 3 USB ports. I do recommend this fine monitor, it was a step up for me at a reasonable price.

Alienware makes some incredible gaming computers and accessories. I’ve loved my M17 gaming laptop for the last two years, and was excited to pair it with this high-performance monitor. First off, I love the RGB glowing from the back of the monitor. The soft blue that’s default out of the box was actually my favorite color, so I kept it. Also, the monitor has a cool retractable headphone hook/arm to hang your gaming headset (or work headset for phone calls and Teams meetings). Now for image quality: this display is incredible! Now, it’s not an OLED, but by no means does it mean you don’t get rich, deep blacks and excellent contrast. It’s one of the best IPS displays I’ve personally used. On top of that, this monitor can output either 1080p at up to 360Hz, or at 4K at up to a 180Hz refresh rate. Plus you know you’ll have clear graphics thanks to NVIDIA G-Sync. Gameplay has looked absolutely incredible. And besides gaming, editing photos and watching content on this monitor has been an absolute pleasure. As for ports, this monitor has quite a few to suit most people’s needs, including 3 USB-A ports (5Gbps), 1 USB-C port (5Gbps), 2 HDMI ports, and a DisplayPort. The monitor supports USB pass-through via the included USB-B cable. Of note, this monitor does not support video pass-through via the USB-C port, so you won’t be able to one-cable dock any laptops. Other things I appreciate about this monitor include its adjustable height and rotation, its cable management built into the stand, and the magnitude of settings you can adjust. I do wish that the monitor included a headphone/aux out for connecting to speakers directly from the monitor. But it’s a minor gripe overall.

This is my first ever Alienware product. I’ve always loved the attention to aesthetics that Dell puts into the Alienware line. This monitor is no different. I have to say, it's pretty cool looking. The shape and design as well as the RGB lighting on the back just look fantastic. Especially for a gaming setup. Let's talk about the dual resolution. I’ve tested both 4k and 1080p gaming extensively over the past several days. My honest opinion is, I like them both but I only like the 1080p when I’m gaming. It makes my desktop look weird and the icons look pixelated. I think that's normal but I don't prefer it. I really don't notice a huge difference when I’m gaming between the two resolutions and I prefer the 4k. I'm pairing this monitor with an Nvidia 4070 Super GPU and it performs great with the 4k resolution. I was a little nervous that it wouldn't do well but I'm very impressed. Obviously it's great at 1080p. I really think it boils down to the fact that I really don't like using the 1080p for anything other than gaming and although it's easy to switch back and forth, I really like the 4k resolution gameplay especially at 180 Hz refresh rate. This monitor includes a headset hanger but I don't use it. I have a headset but rarely use it. But it's convenient for people who do. I love the menu. Out of all the screens I’ve used, this is the best menu yet. Easy to navigate and select what you need. I appreciate that because I’m always tinkering and changing things. I also appreciate that it's Nvidia G-Sync compatible. It's actually the first monitor I've owned that's been G-Sync. I'm not sure how much that improves my experience but it's definitely nice to have. It has enough ports for connectivity for me. I actually use both HDMI and the DP port as I run my MacBook M4 Pro, my work laptop, and my gaming PC all off this monitor and it handles all 3 perfectly. And as I said above, with the easy to use menu, it's easy to switch back and forth between my devices as needed with very little lag time too. I do have this monitor color calibrated for photography as well. As I post process photos in Lightroom with this monitor. It calibrated well and is a decent monitor for photography if anyone is concerned about that. It's a very versatile monitor for me and I’m very satisfied with the quality and the aesthetic appearance of this monitor. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great 4k gaming monitor that had great versatility and performance.

If youre on the fence regarding 4K monitors, this should help clear that up. I was skeptical that this was necessary at all, given that the average person really can't tell the difference between most monitor states, but this made me change my opinion. When you put this next to an older QHD non 4K monitor, and perform some basic calibrations, you can immediately sense the upgrade. The picture quality somehow comes through more complete, so for things like video quality or gaming, its an immediate effect. You get an excellent color balance, as well as nearly perfect black levels for something that's under 500 (I got mine on sale). You do need to mess with some settings to get everything to run at the correct refresh rates and get the colors looking right, but spending some time with some guides on line will get you right where you need to be, and you certainly wont regret it.

I will preface this 3 star review by saying that if you can get this at a good price, it's a pretty good 4k IPS panel. Hdr600 is good on this. The blacks are good and there is minimal backlight bleed! Amazing colors. The reponse times are great. It's a decent gaming/PC monitor. However, in my opinion, the 1080p mode does not look good. The refresh rate is insane but it made everygame so blurry and washed out. I also felt there was a "fuzziness" in both 4k and 1080p though and I couldn't not see it after a week or so of use. This was 600$ at the time of purchase. And just for a bit more you can get into Oled territory. And I ended up returning this for an Asus Oled. If this was a 300-400 dollar monitor. I'd give it an extra star. This is by no means a "bad" monitor. In fact the design feels premium but I couldn't get past the "fuzziness" of it. There was also a slight dark spot on the lower right of my panel that never got bright enough.

This monitor is a phenomenal all-rounder. On the PS5, it delivers crisp 4K at a buttery-smooth 120Hz, making games incredibly fluid. For my M4 Mac mini, the high refresh rate and sharp detail are perfect for both productivity and media. It’s the best non-OLED picture I’ve seen.

This is an excellent non-OLED monitor with decent HDR (600 nits), but not quite enough HDR performance to really make it stand out. For the price, it’s worth it if you’re within this budget range. I knocked off a star for the HDR performance and only having DispalyPort 1.4.
