Using a 640 x 480 pixel CMOS area-imaging engine, the Voyager 1400g scans all standard linear barcodes and the most widely used 2D symbologies—including QR Code, Data Matrix, and Aztec Code—omnidirectionally, and can capture barcodes displayed on mobile device screens for loyalty programs, digital coupons, and e-tickets. Honeywell's CodeGate technology lets operators aim at the target barcode and hold the scan result until the trigger is pressed, preventing accidental reads in menu-driven or multi-code environments. The USB plug-and-play design requires no driver installation; the scanner auto-detects the USB interface at connection. The IP42-rated housing is designed to withstand 30 drops from 1.5 m (5 ft) to concrete, protecting against dust and dripping water. Weighing just 4.2 oz at 7.1 inches long, the ergonomic grip reduces operator fatigue during extended use.
