Andrea Centazzo Ensemble - Los Angeles Tapes - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

This CD is a performance with a classic jazz combo saxophone, double bass, and percussion. Naturally, the percussion no longer reflects the timbre of the tonal instrument, but brushes up the executive praxis in long 4/4 accompaniments next to Carter's extraordinary bass. All tracks on this CD were recorded live at a concert in Udine, the final show of a tour that covered all the major Italian cities. - Andrea Centazzo.

Cjant - First concert for small orchestra based upon friulian folk songs, are Centazzo's first orchestral compositions combining a string section along with the original Mitteleuropa (Free Jazz) Orchestra. The name for the ensemble came not only from the cultural background of it's members but also from middle-European mold of the music written for it. Housed in a DVD style case.

This award winning CD contains some of the masterpieces of the percussive art of Andrea Centazzo. Released in 1980, it has been re-mastered and augmented with new pieces in 2011. This album is a snapshot of Andrea Centazzo at the peak of his percussion career.
