ASUS - ROG Strix G16 16" Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX - 16GB DDR5 - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 - 1TB M.2

The ROG Strix G16 is a 16-inch gaming laptop built around the AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor, and that chip is the reason this machine can carry a game, a browser full of tabs and a chat client all at once without the whole thing grinding to a halt. The 16-inch WUXGA screen runs at 1920 x 1200, which is a taller 16:10 shape than the usual 1080p panel, so game interfaces, timelines and spreadsheets all get more room above and below the fold instead of feeling squeezed. Graphics come from the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 with 8GB of GDDR7 memory, a dedicated card that takes the heavy visual work off the processor and keeps frame delivery steady as you push settings up, and the machine also carries integrated graphics for the lighter moments when the discrete card does not need to be involved. Memory is 16GB of DDR5 SDRAM, supplied as two 8GB modules, which is a comfortable amount for a gaming session with streaming running in the background and a few applications open alongside it. Storage is a 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD, so Windows, a large game library and your working files all sit on fast solid state storage rather than a spinning drive. Windows 11 Home comes installed, giving you the current Windows interface, snap layouts and the Microsoft Store straight out of the box. The chassis measures 13.94 inches wide, 10.39 inches deep and 1.2 inches high, and weighs 5.51 pounds, which is the trade you make for a 16-inch screen and a dedicated graphics card. A backlit keyboard keeps the keys readable in a dim room, and the port selection covers 2 x USB-A 3.1 and 2 x USB-C 4, plus 1 x HDMI 2.1 and display connection via USB port for external monitors. A front facing camera handles calls, and the lithium-ion battery keeps the machine running away from a wall outlet. Finished in Eclipse Gray.
