The 0.6 mil conical stylus ensures proper contact with the record groove even when the cartridge is not quite level. This VM95 Series cartridge with 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical stylus fits half-inch mount turntables. The cartridge’s special coil design delivers a powerful output level of 4.0 mV. It also offers excellent channel separation and low distortion for outstanding tonal quality. The durable low-resonance housing includes threaded inserts that enable the cartridge to be mounted to the headshell with just two screws – no nuts required. And since all VM95 Series share the same body the stylus can be replaced with any of the six interchangeable AT-VMN95 replacement styli. Specs
I have a Sony PS T1 turntable with an Audio Technica LAB XII-S Cartridge and Stylus. This unit is 50 years old. Can I get a replacement stylus for the cartridge or because of the age should I replace the whole unit. If so what would you suggest?
Answered by AudioTechnicaThe LAB XIIS cartridge featured a (ATN12S) Shibata type stylus bonded to a tapered aluminum cantilever, both the cartridge and stylus have been discontinued for quite some time, we have no original replacement styli remaining here and no current replacement styli that is compatible with the LAB XII-S cartridge body. It appears that at least one of our dealers, LP Gear, has some NOS ATN12S styli remaining in their inventory. The current equivalent cartridge complete with stylus is the AT-VM750XSH, the VM540ML cartridge is similar.
