The evolution of Behemoth grew out of early demos and studio recordings with strong black metal roots and atmospherics, into brutal extreme metal. They stamped their own identity on the metal world with the compositions becoming more fierce than cold, and with a great maturity in song writing and execution becoming clearly evident with each passing early . 'Demigod' was Behemoth's seventh album and was originally released in 2004 to great acclaim. This helped further propel the band to the forefront of the extreme metal genre with some savage riffs, technical mastery, combined with lyrical themes exploring occultism and mythology. 'Demigod' was recorded at Hendrix Studios, Poland, then moving to Dug Out Studios in Sweden for the mixing process. The album also features a guest appearance by Karl Sanders of US death gods, Nile.
