Biafore / Salwinski - Colours Of Tango - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

From the artist InchI had hesitated a long time before recording another album featuring Fryderyk Chopin's music. I did not want to make it in a hurry, knowing that I would have to make numerous choices, e.g. regarding the selection of the repertoire itself; I also knew that I needed space and time to reflect on the final result. Paradoxically, it was the pandemic, which paralyzed the concert life for a few months, that created this space. Consequently, after many years, I was able to spend a few weeks with Chopin's music all by myself and enjoy it's beauty in peace. I realized that it was this rare moment of reflection that I had been waiting for; a moment thanks to which I would be able to critically evaluate my own interpretations without the time pressure usually associated with such a process.Inch

Another album under the Anthology of Polish Art a Cappella series, created together with the 'Collegium Cantorum' Choir of the Czestochowa Philharmonic under the direction of Janusz Siadlak, is devoted to Andrzej Koszewski's choral music. Koszewski's special place in Polish music is best characterized by his concept of the choir as 'an orchestra of human voices'. Koszewski discovers in a choral ensemble the possibilities of shaping the timbre of sound analogous to those of a symphony orchestra, and (with full respect for the human voice) treats it similarly, moving in the aesthetics defined by good taste and striving to maintain a sound effect within the framework of high art. That is why all non-standard means of articulation as well as whistle and whisper, often resulting from the use of the properties of the Polish language, are employed in a thoughtful and fully justified manner, never for the effect itself. The selection of songs presented on our album, with the outstanding performance quality of the ensemble, fully confirms it. Album Tracks 1. Muzyka Fa-Re-Mi-Do-Si = Music Fa-Re-Mi-Do-Si 2. Tryptyk Wielkopolski = Greater Poland Triptych 3. Gry = Games 4. Angelus Domini 5. Tre Pezzi 6. Trittico Di Messa
