    Not for short people

    We got this for my wife, the coffee drinker. She likes the coffee this machine produces. It stays nice and hot. The problem is that there is not a window for the water reservoir. So, the water must be measured in the carafe. There is a graduated marking inside the reservoir, but my wife cannot see in it because, at 5' even, she isn't tall enough to see inside the reservoir while the coffee maker sits on the counter.

    Ok Performer (on Sale)

    I bought this sale for $20. Easy to use, read and program the buttons. Display is clear. Auto brew works well. Sneak-a-cup feature---which pauses the brewing process, so you can grab a quick cup without having to wait--works as advertised. I like the removable water basin. It brews a good cup of coffee. Why only 4 stars? It "feels" cheap and fragile. It also makes a somewhat loud clicking noise when it starts brewing. The carafe has to be tilted very slowly when pouring, or the coffee spills out on the sides (slower than my prior coffee machine and others I've owned). In the end, it is a solid performer for the price I paid ($20 on sale). I would not recommend paying full price.

    Great coffee maker

    We've had this coffee maker before - makes great coffee, and it's hot from the beginning. It also has a feature - where you can choose to make stronger coffee - works great!

    Great Coffee Maker !!!

  • How tall is it when the lid is open?

    The lid will not open under my cabinet I have to pull the coffee pot out from under it to open the lid.

  • I lost my instruction manual and I would like to know how to use the auto clean.

    Thank you for providing your feedback regarding your Black + Decker coffee maker. We have provided the instructions for the Auto Clean function below for your convenience: AUTO CLEAN® SYSTEM We recommend cleaning your coffeemaker once a month. 1. Combine 6 cups of white vinegar and 4 cups of cold water in carafe. 2. Pour into water reservoir. 3. Place an 8 to 12 cup basket style paper filter in the removable filter basket. Insert filter basket into filter basket holder and close cover. 4. Make sure the lid of the carafe is in place and place empty carafe on the carafe plate. 5. Plug power cord into an outlet. 6. Press AUTO CLEAN to activate cleaning cycle; the word CLEAN is display and the POWER ON light illuminates. 7. Part of the mixture will brew through. Remaining mixture will be held in coffeemaker for 30 minutes before completing its brew through. Note: The entire cleaning cycle will take 45-60 minutes to complete. 8. When the coffeemaker completes the AUTO CLEAN cycle, it beeps and shuts off automatically. 9.   • Basket, cone, or different filter?Which filter does this use? Says permanent, but what is that?

    This model comes with a removable filter. This model uses a size 4 paper filter.

  • Is the carafe glass or metal? Does the plate stay hot?

    Thank you for your question. This coffee maker has a glass carafe, and it will keep brewed coffee hot for 2 hours and then automatically turn off.

  • I need instructions for programming the timer...so that it automatically turns on in the morning.

    Easy.. No Instructions Needed. Press Program Button Once. The Time Flashing Is The Time That You Change With the Hour & Min Buttons To The Correct Start Time For Your Morning Brew. After Setting The Program Time, Press Program Button Again, Then Press The Auto Button Once & See The Auto Label Appear In The Upper Left Of Screen & Your Are Set.
