Black Butterfly is Buckcherry's fourth studio album, originally released on September 16, 2008. The album marked a continuation of the band's post-reunion momentum, following the commercial success of their 2006 15. Tracks like InchRescue MeInch and InchTalk to MeInch deliver powerful guitar work and explosive choruses, tapping into themes of personal struggle and emotional desperation. InchRescue Me, Inch in particular, was inspired by lead singer Josh Todd's reading of A Child Called 'It' by Dave Pelzer, and addresses the trauma of child abuse and the hope of redemption. The song became one of the album's lead singles and a standout for it's raw, urgent energy and The album debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200, marking Buckcherry's highest chart position to date at the time.
