This Cat 5e shielded Ethernet patch cable, also sold as a Cat5e LAN cable, internet cable or RJ45 network cord, moves Gigabit traffic over 24 AWG bare copper rated to 350 MHz, well above the 100 MHz the Cat 5e standard requires. Foil shielding wraps the twisted pairs, so the run stays clean beside power cabling, inside metal racks and near motors or ballasts where unshielded cords pick up noise. Snagless molded boots protect the locking tab and 50-micron gold-plated RJ45 contacts hold a clean connection. Compatible with Cisco, Netgear, TP-Link, Ubiquiti, Linksys, ASUS, Synology and QNAP hardware, and fits Cat 6 and Cat6a ports. Stocked in 7 ft to 100 ft lengths, from short patch cables to long Ethernet cables between rooms. Best for: structured wiring, workshops, server rooms and electrically noisy rooms. Not for: in-wall runs, outdoors, or 10 Gbps links (choose Cat 6a).
Twisted pairs of 24 AWG bare copper, not copper-clad aluminum, rated to 350 MHz against the 100 MHz the Cat 5e standard requires. Carries Gigabit Ethernet to 100 m with 50-micron gold-plated RJ45 contacts on both ends.
The STP construction wraps the pairs in foil, which is what separates this cable from an ordinary unshielded patch cord. Reach for it when the run shares a tray with power cabling, passes through a metal rack, or sits near motors, ballasts or shop equipment.
Quick check. Rack, patch panel, workshop or server room? Yes. Behind a router, switch, modem or NAS? Yes. Permanently inside a wall or ceiling? No. Outdoors or buried? No. Need 10 Gbps? No, choose Cat 6a. Works with Cisco, Netgear, TP-Link, Ubiquiti, Linksys, ASUS, Synology and QNAP gear.
The most common way a patch cable dies is the plastic release tab snapping off, after which the plug will not stay seated. Molded snagless boots cover that tab so it does not catch on a cable bundle or panel edge while you pull the cable out.
Each cable is sample-tested during production for continuity and wire map. Manufactured to RoHS environmental standards. If your cable arrives defective or stops working in normal use, Cable Leader handles replacement requests directly, no manufacturer redirects.
