    • Brand: Canon
    • Model Number: 0154C001
    • Product Name: PowerShot ELPH 350 HS 20.2-Megapixel Digital Camera
    • Color: Black
    • Digital Camera Type: Point and Shoot Cameras
  • Imaging
    • Image Sensor Type: CMOS (CCD and CMOS are the two main technologies used in image sensors. CCD, the older of the two types, turns analog light signals into digital pixels. This conversion happens without distortion, resulting in high-quality images. Newer CMOS sensors use transistors at each pixel to move electrical charges. CMOS sensors are typically less expensive, but also require more light to create distortion-free images.)
    • Image Resolution (Display): 5184 x 3888 (Refers to the number of pixels, both horizontally and vertically, used to either capture an image or display it. The higher the resolution the finer the image details.)
    • Image File Format(s): JPEG (Standardized software format(s) of storing digital images. The type of format chosen for capturing and compressing the image can determine quality, level of detail, and storage space required.)
  • Focus
    • Autofocus: true (Allows the camera to automatically focus through the lens, rather than by adjusting the lens manually.)
  • Exposure Control
    • Shutter Speeds: 1 - 1/2000 sec.; 15 - 1 sec. (long exposures) (The length of time the shutter remains open when the shutter release is activated, expressed in fractions of seconds. The longer the shutter is open, the more light that is able to be captured by the camera sensor.)
    • Maximum Aperture: 3.6 (The limit to how wide a lens can be open, typically expressed in f-numbers. The smaller the number, the larger the aperture and the more light that can enter the lens. A larger aperture creates a shallower depth of field, helpful for keeping subjects in focus and blurring background details.)
    • Burst Mode: true (Also referred to as continuous shooting. This feature captures multiple shots in rapid succession.)
    • Self Timer: true
    • Shooting Modes: P, hybrid auto, auto, portrait, smart shutter (smile, wink self-timer, face self-timer), high-speed burst, handheld night scene, low light and more (Exposure modes employed by the photographer to control the optimal aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and other settings for capturing specific subjects/scenes. Examples include Aperture-Priority, Macro, and Manual modes.)

Q: Does it take a picture instantly when you press the button, or does it have a delay?

A: I have had no lag time using this camera. I also use a high speed memory card rated a 90mb per second. I have found that most people who have any lag time with most any camera is they buy cheap memory cards that are slow and a slow card can create lag time in any camera.

Q: understanding this camera's wi-fi capabilities

A: To my knowledge, you would have to download the picture file to a smartphone or computer and then upload them to Facebook. In my experience though, you did not actually need WiFi to send the photos to a smartphone once you have linked the two together through the Canon Camera Connect app... You just had to bluetooth connect the two devices to one another. Hope that helps!

Q: Flash on, not auto

A: Yes you can do it, in the advanced menu. This frustrated me also, till I figured it out. Agree that "OFF", "ON" and "AUTO" would make the most sense. I almost sent it back. They should have made this easier.

Q: Is this camera battery rechargeable?

A: YES...CHARGER COMES WITH CAMERA. I BOUGHT AN EXTRA...NOT KNOWING WHEN IT WOULD DRAIN OUT. I GOT 194 PICTURES ON ONE BATTERY CHARGED.

Q: what does the wi fi on the camera do?

A: The wifi allows you to connect to devices and also send data to and from other devices such as a laptop or tablet.

Q: is this water proof

A: NO..NOT WATERPROOF...TRY THIS... http://www.ikelite.com/housings/canon/6243.35-canon-elph-350.html

Q: DOES THIS CAMERA HAVE PRINTED DATE CAPABILITY ON THE PICTURES?

A: Yes, this can be set up with a date.
