Q: Can I used it directly on the gas stove till the tea cooked? I don't have an electrical stove.
A: I would not recommend putting the glass over a flame. Just heat water up in a separate container either using the stove or microwave and pour the hot water into the French Press after you put coffee grounds on the bottom. Directions in the box are pretty simple.
Q: Is it microwaveable without the plunger and the base?
A: It's made out of glass so I don't see why not
A: The wooden base is a 'coaster'. I haven't measured actual cups but I get 2 16/18 oz coffee cups out of it. So 32/36 oz.
