A: No. I tried and unfortunately I had to buy a new case for the 2017 model.

Keeping it safe
My daughter absolutely loves the color and is doing its purpose of protecting it from getting scratches or cracks frame so far and I love that it has like a magnetic feature to it so that the covers just not flopping around

Perfect fit
I bought this case because it is made for the Fire 7" tablet. It doesn't look like an add on...it looks like it is just a part of the tablet. As a hard-type case with a cover it protects all the important buttons and the screen. I couldn't ask for anything better. I don't use the stand-up features much but it does provide a stable base for either land scape or portrait viewing.

Perfect cover for Fire 7
I liked the size and weight of my kindle fire 7, but I decided I should have a cover for protection when leaving home. I read reviews and also looked at alternative brands. I received the Amazon black fire 7 cover in a few days from Best Buy and it's perfect. It doesn't add much extra weight and looks very attractive and well made. I'm very happy.
