Charlotte de Rothschild - Christmas Lullabies - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Scott McMicken has always thrived on switching things up. As a founding member of Philadelphia rock mainstays Dr. Dog, McMicken and his bandmates consistently explored new sounds and new ways of writing songs across 10 gleefully eclectic albums before their 2021 hiatus. While McMicken has quietly released solo projects via cassette and vinyl on his own tag Press On Records, for his latest effort, he's done something he's only done once before started a band. With Shabang, out March 31, 2023, via ANTI-, comes the debut album from Scott McMicken and the Ever-Expanding, and he's made some of his freest and most adventurous music yet a wonderfully collaborative collection of songs that feel lived in and true.By being present and living with these musicians (quite literally McMicken and collaborator Michael Nau stayed in tents outside the studio) united under one common goal, Shabang is full of life and endlessly candid. InchI knew nothing good will come of this unless I am totally free and away from any pressure and pretense, Inch says McMicken. InchSuch an incredible spectrum of emotion passed through me while making this album. There was this lightness and un-self seriousness. I feel like music and life cruises at that spot everybody was so wholeheartedly invested and open.Inch Album Tracks 1. What About Now 2. Reconcile 3. Letters to the Editor 4. Mountain Lion 5. In My Mind 6. Shabang 7. Another One 8. Ever-Expanding 9. Grateful 10. Restart 11. Ace in the Hole 12. Diamonds in the Snow 13. Worried Mind

The Rock n' Roll Baby Christmas album was inspired by the birth of the arranger's daughter, and the need for more enriching children's music. Whether you're having fun, bouncing around your living room, making up your own lyrics or soothing your little rockstar to sleep, our proven methodology of rearranging your favorite songs into beautiful lullabies is the perfect way for parents to bond with their babies. With this album you will get into the holiday spirit with Christmas classics such as Holly Jolly Christmas, Jingle Bell Rock, and more! Happy Holidays!

The richly fascinating history of the Christmas carol spans some nine centuries, from the 12th Century until today, bringing together courtly and popular words and music to contemplate and praise the Christ child. Acclaimed by the Guardian as 'poignantly expressive', soprano Monica Whicher joins one of the world's foremost harp virtuosos and former Principal Harpist with the Toronto Symphony, Judy Loman, to interpret carols both old and new, beloved and unfamiliar, many in Ms. Loman's expert arrangements.
