About this product
Forty or so Damaged Bug tunes from the past seven years were orphaned / unfinished, which is pretty rare for me. I just kept having other things going on and life kept getting in the way. And frankly, the songs were all over the place so I didn't see a thread in there, but in light of current events in the world, I feel like it's every artist's calling to construct personal messages cloaked in a moments of escapism. That's what this record is for me-was something to clear the decks a little bit in my studio and relax my mind and keep the wolf from the door. It's a bit of a joyous / sad record dealing with hope and forgiveness, two things which I hope end up more in my life. It's abstract and poppy, fried and sugary. InchIt exactly how I feel at the moment fried and skewed.InchGood luck out there and I hope this turns off the torrent for you, for a moment.Inch- John Dwyer

Nothing special... just your average psychedelic-hardcore punk-power pop-alt-country-shoegaze father-daughter project! Where Did We Go Wrong? is proof that there is a silver lining in every cloud, even a cloud as dark and pervasive as COVID. In the Summer of 2021, Real Gone Music tag co-founder Gordon Anderson was hanging out in the backyard of one of the three families comprising his pandemic InchpodInch when the kids-who'd all known each other since preschool-started banging around on some instruments lying around the garage. Suddenly, from the unmistakable if uncertain strains of Hole's InchMalibu,Inch came the sounds of somebody playing drums... and playing really well! Turns out it was Anderson's then 14 year-old daughter Edie, who, though she had taken guitar lessons for a few years, had never held a drumstick in her life. So, the Andersons bought a drum kit off Craigslist, and Edie and Gordon started jamming nightly in their West Hollywood garage. The collaboration deepened, though, when their cousin Will Kast moved to town and opened a recording studio in his apartment. Suddenly, the idea dawned on Gordon and Edie that they could actually make a record and preserve for posterity all the new songs they were developing together. So, when Spring Break rolled around in 2022, the duo got down to work, laying down tracks for 15 songs that veer wildly but seamlessly from driving psychedelia (InchA Little InsaneInch) to hardcore punk (InchEnergy Star;Inch InchBlock PartyInch) to power pop (InchBad for My HealthInch) to alt-country (InchLast Gasp;Inch InchPaying My DisrespectsInch) to shoegaze (InchHouse of MirrorsInch) and beyond, with a little extra octane (and faster tempos than those found on Gordon's critically-acclaimed 2020 solo album Moon Man) provided by the teenage drummer. The lyrics, which feature some co-writes between Gordon and Edie, take on everything f

Vinyl LP pressing. 2017 . InchOh my, what is this? The alien globule of Damaged Bug's errant planet has circled the sun and is re-entering our orbit where last year's Cold Hot Plumbs left off. Urgent falsetto morbidities detail this most rhythmically adventurous offering yet Bunker Funk - syncopating rich landscapes with moon-shot death rays.
