Daniel Gaede - Four Seasons - DVD AUDIO [DVD-Audio]

Long live the tube! This newest in the Inchtransistor-freeInch series by Tacet is another musical jewel. The music that Tonmeister Andreas Spreer with his nostalgic, exquisite recording technique, using nothing but tube microphones and tube amplifiers, has conjured onto the disc boasts a naturalness, warmth and vividness we thought had disappeared forever and had almost forgotten. Here a violin still sounds like a violin.

Double transparent green colored vinyl LP pressing. 'Natural Timbre' features Howe, joined by his son Dylan on drums, in an acoustic setting with an array of instruments including acoustic guitar, banjo, mandolin, dobro, lap steel guitar, mandocello and koto across a range of original instrumental compositions and Classical interpretations to produce a deeply intimate collection of moving, atmospheric and stunningly beautiful music. Steve Howe The idea behind 'Natural Timbre' was to show that the beauty of acoustic instruments is universalInch He goes onto say InchI really set about it, putting the electric guitar away wanting to do another kind of exploration, because like the piano, you can't get away from the tonality of acoustic sound. It's one of those beautiful, harmonizing, soothing thingsInch.

Gaede's Kreisler recording, on the other hand, is enchanting. The thirty-year-old violinist plays with a spirit we thought had died out. His playing technique is lit with a rare turn-of-the-century charm. He implores and pleads, he whistles, his chords sparkle, his frantic pace makes the violin laugh with merriment. Here is someone who has managed to regain Kreislerian innocence. (FonoForum)
