About this product
Long live the tube! This newest in the Inchtransistor-freeInch series by Tacet is another musical jewel. The music that Tonmeister Andreas Spreer with his nostalgic, exquisite recording technique, using nothing but tube microphones and tube amplifiers, has conjured onto the disc boasts a naturalness, warmth and vividness we thought had disappeared forever and had almost forgotten. Here a violin still sounds like a violin.

Gaede's Kreisler recording, on the other hand, is enchanting. The thirty-year-old violinist plays with a spirit we thought had died out. His playing technique is lit with a rare turn-of-the-century charm. He implores and pleads, he whistles, his chords sparkle, his frantic pace makes the violin laugh with merriment. Here is someone who has managed to regain Kreislerian innocence. (FonoForum)

The sensation of this recording is the extremely clear, direct, warm and spacious sound. Thanks to the transistor-free tube technology which documents a musical delicacy we can rediscover this much-worn piece. Violinist Gaede and his Polish colleagues play not only with utmost precision and finely discerning dynamics, but also with bite and expression. (Audio)
