While it has a small enclosure, the IO8XT produces surprisingly deep, tight bass by using a passive radiator design. It features an active 8-in. polypropylene woofer and a passive bass radiator to deliver extended low bass response uncharacteristic of outdoor speakers. Its lightweight, treated 1-in. silk dome tweeter produces crystal clear highs resulting in full-range high fidelity performance. With a 70-volt/100-volt transformer tap, this speaker can be used in commercial installations such as distributed background music and paging systems in bars, hotels, restaurants, and conference rooms. In addition, the IO8XTB includes an 8-ohm bypass option for use with consumer amplifiers in residential applications such as pools, patios, gardens, and porches.
