Don Lusher - Big Band - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Mutant, in cooperation with Searchlight Pictures and Hollywood Records, is proud to present the premiere physical of Thomas Newman's score to Andrew Stanton's latest epic In the Blink of an Eye. Andrew Stanton's (Wall-E, Finding Nemo, and the forthcoming Toy Story 5) sophomore live-action feature film is a beautiful, philosophical exploration of our relationship to our past, present and future. Told through an interconnected triptych of stories that span the history of humanity and it's potential future, the film, written by Colby Day, stars Rashida Jones, Kate McKinnon, Daveed Diggs, Jorge Vargas, and Tanaya Beatty. Performed by a mix of traditional and digital instruments, Thomas Newman's sweeping score brings Stanton's vision to life

American jazz musician, arranger, bandleader and composer Don Redman (uncle of saxophonist Dewey Redman), was musical prodigy who was proficient on all wind instruments ranging from trumpet to oboe as well as piano by the time he was 12 years old. Staring with the Fletcher Henderson orchestra in 1922, Redman became one of the central figures of big band swing music and one of the original innovators of the style. His arranging technique was highly sophisticated, and formed the basis of much big band jazz writing in the ensuing decades. Redman formed his own band in 1931 and during this decade released some of the best jazz arrangements of popular tunes ever committed to wax. Presented here is a collection of some of his finest recordings including InchAll Dressed Up And No Place to GoInch and InchHow High the Moon.Inch All selections newly remastered.
