Don Van Vliet - Son Of Dustsucker (The Roger Eagle Tapes) - VINYL LP

Hailing from Havana in the culturally rich, musically dense island of Cuba, the talented young producer Raphox absorbed the genetic imprint of the island - the unique Afro-Cuban rhythms and melodies, and meticulously began incorporating the these elements into his unique brand of down-tempo, lo-fi electronica. Firmly rooted now in the Miami area, Raphox draws upon his musical roots and expands upon the whole premise of down-tempo lo-fi electronica, incorporating hip-hop and Afro Cuban elements to create something entirely new, ultimately expanding the genre.Raphox is first and foremost dedicated to the uniformity of his productions, meticulously crafting beats and sequences into a cohesive whole. One of his first endeavors was a remix of Swamp Dogg's 1970 funk opus InchSynthetic World,Inch which had the music world sit up and take notice, garnering rave reviews. On the brilliant InchMoney Manteca, Vol. 2,Inch Raphox has once again partnered with fellow Miami based producer CleanCapone, adding a whole new element and approach that best serves Raphox's initial vision - which has proven to be unwavering, as he continues to hone his craft to perfection.

Culled from half a decade of home four-tracking, Remote Echoes is a hissy, crumbly, and ungrounded expression of Clay Parton and Canaan Amber's ongoing Duster project. A mix of cassette only demos released under the banners Christmas Dust and On The Dodge, this 14 track album also includes a bevy of previously unissued stragglers. Duster's unique blend of fuzzy guitars, bargain synths, muffled percussion, and hushed vocals anticipated chillwave, mumblecore, and corecore, elegantly illustrating the holy trinity of slacker vices cigarettes, coffee, and the weed supreme.

After a 19-year hiatus, Duster cameback with their S/T chef-d'oeuvre in2019. Recorded in band member ClayParton's garage (aka Low Earth Orbit),the record bears all the hallmarks ofthe band's early work gaunt basslines, spindly guitars, and melancholy lyricsthat lurk in the background.
