About this product
This recording, although relatively new, is one of the rarest gems in the Supraphon archives. After the initial positive reactions the extraordinary quality of the recording was confirmed by prestigious Gramophone Awards; in addition to winning the chamber music category, the young ensemble also brought home from London the top prize Recording of the Year. Eight years after the first edition, Supraphon is releasing this delicacy for true audiophiles. Dvorák's mature works perhaps best mirror the ensemble's extraordinary qualities the equilibrium between precision and spontaneity, the remarkable ensemble playing, and the solo potential of all of the individual players. At the end of the draft of his Quartet Op. 96, Antonín Dvorák wrote the comment InchI'm satisfied; it went quickly...Inch Soon after the InchNew World SymphonyInch, he composed one of the most beautiful of all string quartets while still in America - and the critics were unsparing in their praise. For the Pavel Haas Quartet, both the InchAmericanInch Quartet and the following Quartet Op. 106, the first work composed after the composer's return home from America, are literally affairs of the heart. According to the Sunday Times InchIn this repertoire, they are simply matchless today.Inch Dvorák might even have written his comment InchI'm satisfiedInch about this recording as well. Album Tracks 1. String Quartet No. 13 in G Major, Op. 106 2. String Quartet No. 12 in F Major, Op. 96 InchAmericanInch

Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Elton John was a superstar when he released Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player in 1973, his most direct, pop-oriented album to date. Designed as a pastiche of classic and contemporary pop styles, the album demonstrates the diversity of the Elton John/Bernie Taupin team. Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player was his second straight #1 album in the US, yielding his first No. 1 single in both the US and Canada InchCrocodile RockInch. InchDanielInch was also a major hit from the album, giving him his second Canadian #1 single on the RPM Top Singles Chart and just missing the top slot south of the border, stalling at #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and reaching #4 in the UK, one place higher than achieved by InchCrocodile RockInch. Madvillain Madlib, MF Doom. Additional personnel includes Lord Quas, M. E. D. , Wildchild, Viktor Vaughn, Stacy Epps. Two years in the making, and combining two of the best underground hip-hop artists of the early 2000s, this collaboration between MF Doom and Madlib has been appropriately dubbed MADVILLAINY. With both men known for their stunning soundscapes, rhyming skills, and schizophrenic personalities, the duo decided to have Madlib concentrate on the beats and let Doom handle the lyrics. In mixing their comic-book-like personas, Madlib and Doom play to their nearly superhuman strengths; while some other collaborations of this caliber seems forced and lop-sided, there is absolutely no filler here-just undiluted beats and rhymes, best exemplified by the singles InchAmerica's Most BluntedInch and InchAll Caps. Inch Lib's inventive production leans towards the jazzy side of his repertoire, and Doom unleashes outrageous lyrics on par with his solo efforts (and even his work as Zevlove X in his stint with K. M. D. ). Never flashy or glamorous, MADVILLAINY is served straight up, the way hip-hop was meant to be. Album Tracks 1. The Illest Villains 2. Accordion 3. Meat Grinder 4. Bistro 5. Raid 6.
