I'm a long time user of robot vacuums. My experience goes back over a decade to the early Neato units. I upgraded the Neatos a few times before they went under and I changed to Roombas about 3 years ago. I've seen some really good vacuums and more than a few really bad ones. Now that iRobot was bought out by China's Picea and my Roombas are beginning to fail, it was time to change companies again. Enter the Dyson Spot+Scrub. I have always been a big Dyson fan- I love their fans and vacuums. They tend to be more expensive than other brands but the performance makes it worth it. While their first two attempts at robot vacuums kind of bombed, I had big hopes for the Spot+Scrub. I really, really wanted it to be my solution going forward for my robot vacuum needs. Unfortunately, I came away pretty disappointed and frustrated. My house is 3 floors each about 1500 sqft each. The top and bottom floors are 100% carpet, so the Spot+Scrub would have nothing to mop. The main floor is about 50% hardwood flooring and 50% carpets, so that is where the Dyson was used. The vacuum comes very well packaged and upon removal, you can see how LARGE the system is. I mean, it's big. The vacuum itself is much taller and wider than any I've owned before and the base station dwarfs my Roomba base. Setup was easy enough. Place the base station, remove protective packaging around the vacuum, place it on the charger, and fire up the app (I used an iphone). The app is pretty well made. Setup was simple and the app found the unit quickly. There were a few tutorial videos, some configuration setting, and the system was ready to go. I set it off to map my main floor. This took a number of tries and a few hours with my Roomba J7. The Dyson came up with a decent map in about 30 minutes. Naming rooms and dividing large areas up in the app was simple. I basically split my floor into 5 areas and gave them all names. I ran the unit in vacuum only mode in a carpeted room and it ran well. I filled up the mop reservoir and tried the mopping in my entryway. It did OK. Open areas were mopped, but anything bordering an area rug wasn't touched. I set up the schedule to run two rooms (vacuum and mop) on MWF and the rest TTh. The good things encountered included solid vacuum performance (when it ran properly), quiet operation, it mopped fairly well but stayed away from carpets, and returned to the dock correct. It emptied the dirty water well and the cyclone sytem for debris worked great. The app gave good info on what it was doing during operations too. But that was about it. On the downside, the list was really long. The dock was set up on carpet (best placment for it in my house) and the unit struggled getting on/off the dock. It would get held up trying to turn off the dock before it had completely left it and got struck about half the time. I had it set to clean two rooms each day but it failed 80% of the time. Sometimes it would get into the middle of the room and just stop to think for 10 minutes. Sometimes it would be in the middle of an empty room and declare it was stuck or it's (clean)_ sensors was blocked. More often than not when it did run, it went around the edges of one of the two rooms then went back to the dock and declared the job complete. It wouldn't clean the middle of the room nor ever enter the second room (an upside was it respected boundaries between rooms really well). I tried for days to fix this but never could. That included changing rooms, deleting maps and remapping, deleting schedules and starting a new one. It just kept going around the edges and finishing in 10 minutes. If I ran it manually selecting the same two rooms, it ran fine. When it came to running the next day in the other rooms, it did the same thing. When it came to running the next day in the other rooms, it did the same thing about half the time. I never was able to fix it. The app has a nice feature where you can pull up it's recent activity so you can see what area was covered, but even that had a bug in that to get the most recent run, you had to kill the app and reopen it. Frustrating. The vacuum was also too tall to get under my furniture and cabinets. The other big issue I had was the two spinning side brushes are horrible. They are made of a soft plastic or rubber. I have medium pile carpet with a soft pad under it. My other robot vacuums had no problem with it. The Dyson brushes would get caught on the carpet, bend at weird angles, and actually lift the front end of the vacuum up. Instead of sweeping out to the sides, they were mangled and sweeping just underneath the vacuum (see picture). The unit also got stuck because one of these mangled brushes got it's bristles caught in the wheel mechanism. It's a really poor design. In the end, the Dyson is not going to be my cleaning solution. While the vacuum power is excellent and the app has potential, there is just too many problems with it. The unit is a week old and the side brushes already look like they need to be replaced. You can't trust it to properly clean when scheduled. The mopping is meh and won't go near carpet edges. And the unit is so large, my wife doesn't want it in our living room. I really wanted to like this, but I'll have to keep looking

I’ve owned this AI powered Dyson wet and dry robotic vacuum for about 10 days now. Here’s some things I think you might find interesting, broken down into Good, Ok, and Not So Good categories. First, the Good: 1) The vacuum power is impressive, especially when set to “Boost” mode. I honestly think it compares favorably to most cordless stick vacuums on the market. Even “Auto” is sufficient for daily cleanings. 2) Edge cleaning is good. The bristles actually do a good job reaching all the way to the walls. 3) App provides lots of options for cleaning. From easy “set it and forget it” settings, all the way to customizing the vacuum strength and number of mop runs on a per-room basis. For example, I can set the vacuum to run on Auto on all the hard floors, then kick it up to Boost for the carpeted rooms. And the mop function allows adjustment of the amount of fluid used, along with the number of passes it does, all on a per-room basis. The Ok: 1) The original mapping was just so-so. I appreciate that it was really quick—it did my 4,000sqft house in about 1.5 hours. It took my previous robovac over 4 hours, not including the recharge part way through. Additionally, I feel like it did some rooms really well, then really botched others. For example, my entry way is square, not two stacked squares with an odd offset. The AI only does a mediocre job of putting the map together, so be prepared for a lot of map tweaking and adjusting. 2) Mop performance is good when the device has a clear path, but will leave large areas unmopped if something confuses it. I have a rug (runner) in the middle of my home’s main hallway. On either side of the rug is hardwood flooring that needs to be mopped, about 1.5 vacuum sizes in width. The mop does a great job cleaning the wood that borders the walls; however, it completely bypasses the wood closest to the rug (likely because it doesn’t want to wet the carpet). But it seems to me that it could make parallel passes along the rug if it wanted without soaking the rug. It doesn’t want to, at least not yet. Maybe an update will help that. 3) Like most robovacs I’ve experienced, the bristles will knock small and lightweight debris any which direction rather than pick it up. I sat and watched the vacuum bat around a fluff of pocket lint three or four times before I manually picked it up. This was on the Auto setting. The Not So Good: 1) The vacuum is large. Larger than my previous vacuum, especially in height. No big deal if it’s a little taller though, right? Wrong. This thing is tall enough that it doesn’t fit under roughly half of my cabinet ledges. I’ve attached a video showing the vacuum struggle to get underneath my standard height kitchen cabinets to clean up to the kick panels. In my kitchen, most of the daily debris from cooking ends up underneath the cabinet overhang, close to the kick panels…exactly where the vacuum can’t reach. To remedy this, I need to sweep under the cabinets before the vacuum runs. Bummer. 2) The Boost setting on the vacuum is pretty loud. I like to run the vac during the night when my family and I are asleep; however, the boost volume is loud enough to wake us up. Seems like this would be even more bothersome when running the vac during the daytime if you work from home. Just an FYI. I now run the vacuum on the Auto setting and that seems to do a good enough job. Final review: For the money ($1,200 at publish date), I feel like this is simply a “good” option in the robo cleaner realm, but maybe not yet “great”. I realize all robovacs have gotten crazy expensive over the last few years, but I’m not sure the AI and overall cleaning experience the Dyson vac provides are truly standout worthy reasons to purchase this over a cheaper option. However, if you have the money and you’re a fan of Dyson products, you will be well-served by the Spot + Scrub AI robovac. It does an admirable job cleaning (albeit with some caveats), has a really good app that provides plenty of programming options, and will eventually have lots of third-party components that will reduce the cost of maintenance over the years. For that, I give it 4 stars.

The Dyson Spot+Scrub AI does an excellent job cleaning both hardwood and carpeted areas. Paired with an easy to use app and low maintenance design, this robot vacuum is a great way to keep living spaces clean with little effort. Set up In the box there is basic documentation demonstrating the initial steps to prepare the unit and connect it to the Dyson app. The app contains short videos showing steps on how to clean and maintain everything. It’s relatively straightforward to use and takes just a few minutes to update the firmware - following that is getting the floor mapped. Mapping was pretty quick as the robot briefly scanned each room and moved on. Scheduling Options include different clean types for vacuuming and washing (or a combination of both), vacuum modes (auto, quick, quiet, boost), and hydration level (how much water used when mopping). There is also a setting for wash repetitions - how many times the robot will wash the floor (1 or 2x). One slightly minor inconvenience is that when creating a schedule for a floor with many rooms, the user needs to select the vacuum and wash options separately for each room. Cleaning During the cleaning process, the app will display what the robot is doing at each stage. Further in the settings page there is an option to wash floors with hot water only, and a separate toggle to clean with or without cleaning solution. I made the mistake of putting in regular Pine Sol which made the robot leave suds everywhere, but thankfully I was able to easily pour it out from the dock and use water as the recommended alternative. In my case, the robot will clean about a total of 390ft (takes about 1.5 hrs) or so, and part of that includes a living room area with a low pile rug in which it transitions from mopping to vacuuming without much problem. Unfortunately due to the height of my kitchen cabinets it cannot completely reach into the toe kick area. There were two cases where it did have trouble with obstacles - once was its attempt at climbing out of a small space under the TV console (hardwood floor to the pile rug) but after a few tries it got itself out without assistance. Another instance was when a walking pad/treadmill was moved into the middle of the room during the robot’s cleaning session and it became confused - bumping into the treadmill constantly. Once I was done with my exercise it went back and cleaned the area though. Other notes The overall sound it makes while cleaning is not as loud as I had expected (I left the vacuum mode on ‘auto’). Although it can be heard from another room, it’s still quieter than the typical vacuum noise. When the vacuum mop roll is being heated and dried on its dock it does make a whirring sound every few minutes, presumably coming from the mop roll being rotated over time. There is also a slight heat that the dock gives off - not a lot, but it’s noticeable as it takes a few hours for the drying to complete. One other thing is that so far after 3 cleanings I'll need to refill the water tank - not a big deal in my opinion as I take the dirty water bin out and give both a rinse at the same time. Overall, it did a great job cleaning and mopping - my floor feels less ‘gritty’ and smoother for sure. I was surprised by how much dust was collected in the dock after the first cleaning. Coupled with its low maintenance design, the Dyson Spot+Scrub AI is a robot vacuum worth considering for anyone looking for a vacuum robot.

Big excitement for me receiving the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai. I’ve been using Dyson products for years but never the robot vacuum. The previews of the Spot+Scrub Ai were amazing and made me want to give it a try. Shipping nowadays is really competitive and still I was surprised at how fast it arrived. It was packed neatly and tight which kept the contents from shifting during transport. Getting the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai setup was a breeze and did not suck up my time. The included quick setup guide was useful to make it dummy-proof. I clicked the few pieces together, added the water, cleaning solution, and did the network connection using my Dyson app. It all took me about 10 minutes including the update. What’s in the box you might ask? User manual, Ai Dyson robot, charging station, and charging cable. I don’t know why they don’t include the cleaning solution. Unfortunately, if you purchased the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai, you cannot effectively run it because you probably didn’t think of buying the cleaning solution. I would have preferred the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai to be sleeker so it could maneuver around narrow spaces. Even when it does do a good job cleaning areas it can fit, the tight spaces are left for me to do manually. This is ideal for homes with minimal furniture and clutter because of the size of the robot vacuum. My Dyson kept getting stuck under the couch because of the height. I ended up making it a no-go zone to avoid the issue. Dyson should update the software to use the Ai technology to know what it can’t fit under so it doesn’t get stuck. I like the cleaning of the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai because you can see what it picks up and you can see the dirty water. I’m still excited about the Dyson robot vacuum and I’m hoping the future updates of software will make it better. I do like that after mopping the floors it dries the roller after the cleaning cycle. I see condensation in the clear window of the vacuum. I think it will eventually grow mold or smell musty. I don’t think it’s drying out the vacuum entirely, which would be the way to go. I’m going to continue using this Dyson until something better comes out or if they improve things with some software updates.

The Dyson - Spot+Scrub Ai Wet and Dry Robot Vacuum is better than all I've ever used. 1. Unboxing - the robot vacuum was packed extremely well in a sturdy box. The robot and base are both built well. All the necessary parts were in the box. No extra brushes, mopping rollers or mopping solution were included. The instructions consisted of only pictures but it was easy to follow and there was a QR code to download the Dyson app which provided additional info for setting up the machine. 2. Dyson app - the mapping of my house was easy to complete and was fairly quick but the rooms were not marked as well as in other robot mop/vac apps that I have used. It was a little difficult for me to distinguish the results of the mapping to select rooms as first. The obstacles/furniture in the rooms do not show clearly in the map. Other than that, the Dyson app worked well and completed cleaning as instructed in the cleaning settings. Other robot vacs and apps I have used would not work as instructed some of the time nor would vac and mop at the same time like this Dyson does. 3. Vacuuming - This robot vacuums well and senses dirt so it can automatically increase suction as needed and increases suction on carpets and rugs. The wet roller raises automatically when vacuuming. The brush bar is made of silicone so it lasts longer and does not get tangled with hair. The robot holds a lot of dirt and debris and then does a great job of emptying into the bagless bin in the base as needed. The bin holds plenty of debris. There is no dust getting out into the air since the vacuum filters them out. 4. Mopping - The wet roller cleans to the edge so not to miss parts of the flooring and it cleans itself as it goes. It is supposed to be more hygienic since it cleans dirty water off before it takes on clean water as it rotates. It has made a huge difference in our hard wood flooring and does not leave any streaks or residue like other robot mopping vacs. It automatically goes back to the base as needed to empty dirty water and get more clean water. The dirty water tank holds plenty and you can tell how well it is cleaning by looking at the water that comes off the floors. 5. Technology - This machine is the most technologically advance robot I have seen. It identifies spills and stains and adjusts its power and goes back over anything that needs additional cleaning to make sure it does a thorough job. Final thoughts - This Dyson Wet and Dry vacuum is the most advanced unit I have ever used and cleans better as well. This is a Dyson product which I have found is usually the top of the line but I had to see for myself. I am really impressed with most everything I've seen so far.

It uses active scrubbing motion, combining heated water + agitation + suction • Self-cleaning with no manual intervention needed other than emptying the bins and refilling with fresh water Set-up, Product Features, and What Stands Out Set-up is straightforward and consistent with what you’d expect from a premium connected device. It connects quickly to the MyDyson app, walks you through the initial configuration, and is ready to go within minutes. The onboarding experience was simple and didn’t require multiple mapping runs or manual intervention. What stands out right away is how purpose-built this device is compared to typical robot vacuums: • AI-powered detection that identifies dirt, debris, and stains in real time • Active scrubbing roller designed for deeper cleaning • Heated water cleaning (~140°F / 60°C) for breaking down stubborn stains — this is a great feature and the one I like the most, as it also helps disinfect stained areas • Self-cleaning wet roller that maintains hygiene after each run • LiDAR for precise navigation in tight areas • Extendable roller for better edge and corner cleaning • Hygienic dock that empties, cleans, and dries the system automatically Performance This is where the product really differentiates itself from my 2-year-old vacuum + mop robot. The combination of AI detection + active scrubbing + suction + heated water makes a noticeable difference, especially on sticky spills, dried stains, kitchen and entryway dirt, and high-traffic zones. Unlike traditional robot mops that tend to drag a damp cloth over surfaces, this actually scrubs and lifts dirt, which is much closer to how you would clean manually. I added a few ounces of hardwood floor cleaning liquid to the water bin to make the scrubbing more effective for dried stains on the hardwood floor. I did have to run it a couple of times on older dried stains to really see the full effect, but once it kicked in with multiple passes, the difference was noticeable. The AI does a good job identifying areas that need deeper cleaning and adjusts accordingly. I also like that it prioritizes precision—focusing on problem areas instead of doing unnecessary full-room passes. Edge cleaning is another area where it performs well, thanks to the extendable roller. It reaches spots that most robot vacuums tend to miss. App Features The MyDyson app is clean, intuitive, and easy to use. It allows you to: • Set designated cleaning zones for targeted areas • Schedule cleaning sessions if you want to automate specific spots • Monitor cleaning progress in real time • Access cleaning reports and system status • Receive maintenance alerts (water levels, cleaning head, etc.) What I appreciate here is the simplicity. The app doesn’t overwhelm you with excessive customization options. Instead, it focuses on control and visibility for targeted cleaning tasks. The real-time reporting and zone-based cleaning are useful additions, especially if you want to repeatedly clean high-traffic areas without manually triggering it every time. Summary and Recommendation The Dyson Spot + Scrub AI focuses on cleaning effectiveness over coverage. While it supports full-home cleaning, its real strength is in handling stains, spills, and high-traffic areas with AI detection, active scrubbing, and heated cleaning. What stood out to me is the precision. It spends more effort when it spots stains or areas where more cleaning is required, which makes a noticeable difference compared to my older robot vacuums. It is a great choice if you’re looking for deeper cleaning and stain removal, especially in homes with pets, kids, or frequent spills. Given Dyson’s decades of experience in vacuum cleaners, this robot vacuum meets the cleaning standards I expect and brings a meaningful level of innovation to this category, especially with the active scrubbing and heated cleaning.

We bought this after our Dyson 360 VisNav had an unfortunate dog poop incident and while I miss the carpet performance of that machine, this one more than makes up for it in mopping and hard floor pickup. Carpet isnt bad either, but I definitely still have to do a carpet deep clean each week. The robot itself is a tank. The app could definitely use more features and has some room for improvement but setup was easy enough and it mostly just works. I also love that the dock just has your standard Dyson dust bin - no bags to worry about. I am disappointed that the floor cleaner you can add seems perpetually out of stock. I get that this device is controversial in some way - its a Dyson in name only, Picea builds the robot. But overall i havent been disappointed. Just would have loved to see some more Dyson DNA in the device itself.

4 stars because the only solution officially supported by Dyson for the mop function is a Dyson-made solution that has been out of stock since I bought the robot. It's also not available at most common retailers, leaving you to signup for notifications for the product's availability online through their website. The first time I signed up for notifications I received an email that the solution was back in stock but it was already out of stock after only 30 minutes after they sent the email. The robot also leaves pet hair in clumps randomly throughout the house. Time will tell if the machine figures out how to use its AI to go around and pick up these clumps or if it will only continue to leave them behind for us to pickup. The dust bin that the vacuum empties into is almost impossible to open. Even after having done it once, it wasn't totally obvious how it opened. There are virtually no how-to's available online on how to open this and the buttons are non-intuitive.

I've owned a lot of Robot Vacuums and have owned Wet/Dry Vacuums. I have hard floors (wood and tile). Most wet robot vacuums have failed to live up to the ease-of-use expectations, because they require you filing the vacuum with liquid, or fitting a wet mop pad, or other manual interventions. The Dyson Spot+Scrub AI Wet Dry is the only wet vacuum that is zero touch - load the base station with liquid and you're done. There are some compromises, which I will explain. The big one is the Dyson is heavy and the base station is huge, like comically huge. This is not discrete and the base station at the top heght is is equivalent to the seat of my sofa. It's also heavy, VERY heavy. I had this delivered to home and it was a two person job to get the delivered box into the house. But that aisde, in use it's easy. Setup requires the Dyson app, you register and pair your Dyson Vacuum. It pairs fast and the voice prompts are in a British accent. The first run is a scan of your home and this is where I was wowed. The Dyson has a camera (yes, Camera not LIDAR) and there's a small green light that is thrown in front of the camera as it explored. I think this is also where the AI is real, becuase when it mapped my home it correctly identified the kitchen and dining areas - so there is smarts behind the camera. The app is intuitive and you can set schedules, set zones that are prioritized for wet vs dry, so I mop the kitchen regularly but the main hardwood floors I am doing when I feel it's needed and instead do a regular weekly vacuum of the wooden floors. The camera can spot stains and focus on cleaning spots, I haven't put that in practice yet and didn't do a ketchup make a mess test haha. The cleaning is very good and it's not noisy on the default setting. As you would expect with a Dyson. It's also easy to empty out and clean, the cannisters are smartly designed and have lift up carry handles (so yes, it's huge, but well designed and thought out). Overall, very happy and if you want a true wet dry easy to use robot vacuum you can't go wrong with this Dyson. Only caveat is Dyson doesn't ship this with cleaning fluid for the mop which is a miss. For the price, they could have at least included a sample cleaner liquid.

one month in and this thing phenomenal. exceeded my expectations. thorough cleaning, excellent obstacle avoidance, mopping and vacuuming work very well and it collects a lot of dog fur daily.

It’s cheaper to hire a person to clean on a weekly basis, frustrating beyond belief. Not worth the aggravation. Mapping ? Unit bangs into Everything it sees. Needs glasses. This is number 2 first one same problem

I LOVE this machine! I've owned several robotic mop / vacs from many different brands and this unit has impressed me the most by far. One model I owned but ended up gifting after being less than happy with it cost $1500. To state the obvious, it looks amazing. Total luxury item vibes. I won't lie, it not 'quiet', per say, but in my experience none of them really are. They're all going to make some noise, but that's okay. The trade off of having my floors cleaned without my having to do much other than empty it once every 2 months makes it easy for me to just ignore it and turn the TV up! I mostly have it run when I'm away from home anyway. While other models boast 'scrubbing', or being able to sense dirty spots on the floor, they don't always get the full spill up. Or, an older spill or drop I didn't notice that's dried to the floor. This unit will stay on that spot until it's completely up! It switches from wet to dry seamlessly, no wet spots on the few rugs that I do own. My favorite feature, as a person who owns pets, is the little roller reaches the corners to pick up all the dust bunnies that used to accumulate. The fur doesn't tangle / build up in the corners of the brush either, which is a problem I have with my stick vac. It doesn't require solution, but I make a mixture of 1 part bleach to 4 parts water and my place always smells fresh. Great investment.

Dyson is finally jumping into the mop-and-vacuum combo space, and they’re coming out swinging. Dyson isn't just playing catch-up here; they’ve brought some serious engineering to the "wet and dry" category. +++ Pros +++ + Although Dyson went with a shorter vacuuming brush and longer mopping brush, they compensated for this with more suction power and by adding a second side brush - versus my existing robot vacuum. In my testing, this provided better cleaning with less passes which reduces overall cleaning time. + The AI works surprisingly well. Initially you'll see it slap debris around like most robot vacuums on the first pass. But on the second pass and beyond you'll notice it slows down and rotates the side brushes at a speed where its drawing the dirt inward versus spreading it outwards around. + I love the bagless cyclonic tank. This lessens post-purchase expenses and hidden costs and empties easily, similar to Dyson's stick vacuums. + The mop works surprisingly well. I think heating the roller mop really does make a significant difference. My prior daily driver has left some spots behind (mostly from sauces dripping on the floor). I've tried adding the cleaning solution and even pre-treating these spots with Dawn and my daily driver has not been able to completely dissolve these. On the other hand, the Dyson was able to get these up seamlessly. I would likely purchase Dyson's Probiotic Solution to improve the cleaning efficiency. If it really breaks down these stains like it says, that's less passes and less battery used during cleaning. +Dyson has clearly applied their signature acoustic tuning here. While my daily driver robot emits a high-pitched 'whine' that makes it impossible to take a call or even work in the room its currently cleaning in, the Dyson produces more of a steady, low-frequency hum. It reminds me of the Dyson hair dryers: it’s still powerful and audible, but the 'tone' is much softer on the ears, making it far less intrusive when you're actually in the room." --- CONS --- - Dyon gave us a sleeker profile for the dock, but the trade off is smaller clean and dirty water tanks which will require more frequent refilling and emptying. - The clear cyclone tank is cool at first. But after a while, you have this realization that it's almost like putting your dirt on display. I think a tinted tank would have been a more high-end, elegant choice especially considering for many people their robot vacuum is in their living room. - I'm assuming this is due to the heated mop, but there is noticeable condensation on the robots "window" when its running. The obvious concern here is mold. For full transparency, I did not notice any during my limited testing, but its definitely something I'm monitoring. - Dyson missed the mark on styling/design for the actual robot. The Dock features the iconic cyclone design that Dyson's stick vacuums are known for, but if you put the robot itself out there with a bunch of competitors it wouldn't visually just blend in minus the obvious "dyson" printed on it. It would've been cool to see Dyson put that premium, unique design flair they're known for into the actual robot so it visually stands out amongst competitors.
