Great printer. The power button blinking when in standby drove me crazy so I tapped a quarter over it. I called tech support and they said it was a bad printer. But it turns out that all the printers of this type blink.

The Epson ET-3930 Wireless All-in-One Color Supertank Printer is designed with both aesthetics and practicality in mind. It features a sleek, compact profile that fits comfortably on a standard desk without monopolizing valuable workspace. The finish resists fingerprints, maintaining a professional appearance even in high-traffic households or offices. The control panel, is a small LCD touchscreen, is intuitive and responsive. Physical buttons are minimized, contributing to a streamlined look. One paper tray holds a great amount of paper and is easy to access, supporting a range of sizes from envelopes to legal documents. Overall, the construction feels sturdy, with well-aligned components that move smoothly during operation. The auto feature of the output tray is a neat feature. You send a print to the printer and the paper cassette/output tray door opens and the output tray automatically extends and when printing is complete the tap of a button retracts the output tray and shuts the paper cassette/output tray door. One of the highlights of the ET-3930 is the user-friendly setup. Out of the box, this printer comes with clear, step-by-step instructions. Plugging in the device and connecting it to Wi-Fi takes mere minutes, thanks to on-screen guides and mobile applications provided by the manufacturer. Most users will appreciate the option to set up via smartphone app, which allows for a cable-free experience and immediate integration with cloud printing services. I used my mobile device for setup and later made my connection to our laptops. When it comes to print quality, the ET-3930 excels in delivering sharp text and vibrant graphics and it produces documents that are professional in appearance, with precise character definition and clear contrast. Color accuracy is commendable, making it suitable for presentations, brochures, or even casual photo printing. During setup the printer will print a test page, you take that test page and place it on the scanner. Once the test page has been scanned the printer will automatically adjust the printer alignment and color/contrast for the best quality print. Photographic prints, though not matching the depth and detail of dedicated photo printers, still exhibit lifelike colors and smooth gradients. The printer handles complex images well, preventing banding or unwanted streaks, especially when high-quality paper is used. For typical home or office tasks—such as printing reports, homework, or web pages, the output meets or exceeds expectations. Print speed is a crucial metric for many users. This model delivers respectable performance, churning out black-and-white documents at a rate of approximately 18 pages per minute (ppm) and color documents at around 9 ppm. First-page-out time is competitive, meaning you’re not left waiting while the printer warms up. This was a constant issue with our previous (competitor’s alleged quality) printer. Duplex printing (automatic double-sided printing) is included and operates seamlessly, contributing to paper conservation. The device’s quiet operation is a welcome feature. Versatility is a defining characteristic of this printer. In addition to traditional USB connectivity, it supports wireless options such as Wi-Fi. This means users can print directly from smartphones and tablets. Scanning and copying functions are robust, with the flatbed scanner producing high-resolution digital copies with a very slight difference in the copy. Scanning and copying from a flatbed scanner/copier is a slow process with having to place a single print on the scanner/copier bed as opposed to an automatic document feeder. I attempted to take a picture of the original and the copy. However, again, the difference is so slight it would be hard to see in a photo of the document. The ongoing cost of consumables, ink and toner cartridges remain a significant expense, and potential buyers should consider the printer’s efficiency in this regard. The ET-3930 boasts the EcoTanks which eliminate the old frequency of cartridge replacements and lower the cost of printing. Refilling ink is easy with the large ink tanks and the uniquely keyed EcoFit bottles. There is no mess and no chance of mixing up the ink bottles. Pros and Cons • Pros: • High-quality text and color printing • Fast setup and intuitive controls • Wireless and mobile connectivity options • Efficient scanning and copying features • EcoTank ink tanks • Simple ink refilling with EcoFit bottles Cons: • Photo print quality, while good, doesn’t match dedicated photo printers The ET-3930 home office printer is a well-rounded device that adeptly balances print quality, speed, and connectivity. Its thoughtful design, ease of use, and broad feature-set make it a strong contender for anyone seeking a reliable printing solution. While the ongoing cost of consumables should be factored in any purchase decision, the overall value offered by this printer is substantial. We had issues with our previous (Competitor’s tank printer) continually losing the wi-fi connection, also, issues printing from our mobile devices. We assumed it was our wi-fi and/or the location of the printer even though we had moved the printer to a few different locations in our office. The Epson ET-3930 has not lost the wi-fi connection to date and printing from our mobile devices has been flawless.

The Epson EcoTank ET-3930 is designed for people who are tired of cartridge drama and want something more economical for high-volume home or small business printing. I like the clean, modern look; it’s not an eyesore on the desk and actually looks decent in a home office. Setup is about as easy as it gets—fill the keyed ink tanks (can’t mess up the colors), connect to Wi-Fi or USB, walk through the app prompts, and you’re off and running. Wireless setup went okay, and the printer held its network connection without fuss. For scanning, copying, and regular document printing, it just works, and it’s relatively quiet even during long jobs. It is pretty slow to me but for 1 to 5 sheet prints, it’s fast enough for most. The EcoTank’s biggest win is the ink system. Those bottles are simple and basically mess-free if you don’t force it. The cost per page is ridiculously low compared to cartridges. Most people can go months—or even over a year—before refilling, and supposedly, the ink levels actually seem to last forever. It makes a huge difference in ongoing cost, especially if you’re printing thousands of pages. Black-and-white prints are sharp and professional with near laser sharpness with inkjet paper; color is strong for everyday work and graphics. Photo prints are perfectly acceptable for intermittant use, definitely not pro-level, but great for family albums or school projects. This is a 4 color printer so it wouldn’t be great for archival prints. This is also not the printer you would use for 500 sheet dissertations or for a busy law office. There are some trade-offs. There’s NO automatic document feeder, so scanning or copying multi-page documents is a manual process. First-page-out speeds for color-heavy jobs are glacially slow, and for truly premium photo output, you’d need a more specialized printer with more colors. For most productivity, work, or school use, this thing is just fine. Maintenance matters a bit more on EcoTank than with cartridge printers. You’ll need to swap out the maintenance box if you print a lot, and it’s worth running off a couple pages a week to avoid any chance of dried-out print heads. Neglect it, and you might end up running a cleaning cycle or two—which is easy but takes time. Fortunately, the maintenance box is fairly cheap coming in at less than $10, so compared to carts, it’s still a savings. If you’re crafty or run a small business, you CAN convert the ET-3930 for sublimation printing. Once you convert, you’re locked into sublimation mode and the Epson warranty’s gone, but for DIY shirts, mugs, and gifts, it’s something you can do with EcoTank, and why a lot of people like this printer (including me). I haven’t done it to this printer yet, but I’m glad to know that I can. If you print a lot and want low-hassle, low-cost color for work, the ET-3930 is a big upgrade from cart-based inkjets. It’ll save you a ton and just keep working.
