Q: Is this projector appropriate for outdoor movies, and would I need to purchase speakers also?
A: Yes it is great for outdoor movies. The sound quality is poor so you must get speakers that will connect directly to your video source.
Q: how would you hook a external audio source to the unit , like a surround sound ?
A: There is no sound output so you must connect speakers directly to video source.
Q: Can I use usb memory stick to project pic
A: I loaded my pictures from camera and ipad on USB stick and loaded them on my laptop using a free movie program called Movie Maker. It is very easy to use and also has an editing program.
Q: Can I mount the projector upside down?
A: Yes you can. I have mine mounted on the ceiling using angle iron and a universal mount.
Q: Can you output sound to other speakers?
A: No, there are no output jacks for extra speakers. There are only various input jacks/ports.
