Eric Copeland - Joke in the Hole - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Double vinyl LP pressing. 2013 solo album from New York's Eric Copeland, an integral member of Black Dice and Terrestrial Tones. Samples clatter playfully, while wild and wobbly drum breaks hold the arrangements together - barely. Joke in the Hole also marks Copeland's return to DFA, where Black Dice released their seminal 2002 debut Beaches & Canyons - the tag's first-ever full-length. In search of the essential feel-good Psychedelic noise record for the summer? Look no further.

Eric Copeland - Car Alarm [7-INCH SINGLE] date 02/21/2012

Twelve inch vinyl pressing of this 2013 single. Eric Copeland of Black Dice returns to DFA with 'Masterbater,' 11+ minutes of skronking gyrations and prickly samples. Throughout the track, radio-static intrusions and snatches of glossolalic R&B give the impression that Copeland is stuck inside his car, flicking impatiently from channel to channel while a hailstorm pelts the enclosing steel. But 'Masterbater' doesn't devolve into the self-indulgence implied by the title, maintaining propulsion even as conflicting tensions swallow each other whole.
