Etherea Vocal Ensemble - Hymn to the Dawn - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

For more than 20 years choral conductor and musicologist Clytus Gottwald has been transcribing piano-accompanied Lieder and instrumental works for a cappella choir. On this CD, transcriptions of works by Schumann, Liszt, Nietzsche, Ravel and Debussy are presented in an interpretation by the Chamber Choir Saarbrucken and it's conductor Prof. Georg Grun.

Sunrise Mass is a magical recording that includes compelling music by Ola Gjeilo along with several complementary selections by Durufle, Mendelssohn, and Mocnik. The title was chosen to hopefully represent the journey of each listener to hear new worlds ot colors in each of the selections. At the heart of this recording is Gjeilo's Sunrise Mass, a spiritual, extended work in four movements that will bring you on a metaphysical journey from the heavens to earth. This recording is expertly sung by the Westminster Williamson Voices and conducted by James Jordan. It is simply exquisite. Jordan writes InchThis has been our experience living with this music and, for me, allowing this choir to resonate these sounds in the most honest way we could. Gjeilo's music allows us to connect to a vast wordless world that speaks directly to each of us in deeply personal and meaningful ways. His music was a gift to us, and hopefully will be a gift to you. All of the music on this recording connected itself to us and tethered each piece, one to the other, inside us. And for that reason, and all the reasons above, we are excited to share the magic we felt through sounding all of these incredible scores.Inch

Two CD edition. 2017 from the German progressive rock band. The concept albums Wanted (2014) and Beyond Man And Time (2012) are widely recognized as the pinnacle of German art rock giants RPWL's discography which meanwhile comprises more than a dozen releases. On the occasion of it's 20th anniversary, the band releases the long-awaited concert movie A New Dawn. It documents the last stop of the tour in support of the Wanted album and that evening the Bavarians played in their hometown of Freising, Bavaria in October 2015. The show is an elaborately assembled combination of elements of a rock concert, a multimedia event and a play. This was the first and only time that the mammoth-production was brought to the stage. In addition to the musicians themselves the cast comprised around fifty actors and extras.
