Ronnie Leatherman - Ronnie Leatherman & Friends-old School - VINYL LP

- An essential for all 13th Floor Elevators fans - on limited edition blue vinyl- Includes original songs, covers & demo recordings drawn from a career spanning 60 years.Old School is the first solo album by Ronnie Leatherman - bassist in the classic 13th Floor Elevators line-up - who has the distinction of playing on all three of the band's studio albums.Ronnie released his first single in June 1965 as Max & the Penetrators 'Prayin' Til Then b/w Kurl' and, apart from lead singer Roky Erickson, is the only former band member to a solo album. After graduation he joined the Elevators alongside Stacy Sutherland (lead guitarist & songwriter), former Penetrators vocalist Max Range, John Ike Watson and Benny Thurman (bass). When it was discovered Benny had never played bass, Ronnie stood in while teaching him how to play. The band relocated to San Francisco to promote their debut single 'You're Gonna Miss Me' in August 1966 with Ronnie appearing on national TV and also headlining major venues such as The Fillmore and The Avalon Ballroom alongside Janis Joplin and The Grateful Dead.Ronnie played on the band's seminal Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators recorded in Dallas and Houston with producer Bob Sullivan. The follow-up single 'Reverberation' featured Ronnie's outstanding lead bass line. After their West Coast tour and album , he and John Ike quit the band, disillusioned by lack of promotion. However, Ronnie had already contributed to sessions that were not only used on the second LP, Easter Everywhere, but also on the singles '(I've Got) Levitation' and 'She Lives (In A Time Of Her Own'.Although he performed his last show with the band in July 1967, Ronnie re-joined in October 1968 to finish the third studio album Bull Of The Woods, released in March 1969.Post-Elevators, he performed with many bands and briefly featured in a line-up of the Golden Dawn - a

Fears - Oa-che - VINYL LP

Oíche, the debut album from Fears, available 7th May 2021. Pieced together over five years, Oíche chronicles growth through challenges, instability, and relationship changes, both with one's self and others. The album reveals itself much like a coming of age novel about the breaking apart of girlhood and rebuilding of a young woman. An intimate depiction of discovery, Oíche unearths internal dialogue, and makes peace with uncertainty. Oíche, meaning 'night' in Irish, was recorded in three bedrooms, hospital, and the Domino Recordings studio in Brixton. Fears is London-based Irish artist Constance Keane. Combining reflective electronics, acoustic samples, and haunting vocals with organic visuals, Fears invites the listener on an ethereal journey, blurring the boundaries between music and visual art. Her minimalist approach centres on emotive subjects, which are all-at-once deeply personal yet remarkably universal. Oíche is the first on TULLE, run by and for exceptional women.LP A1. h_alwaysA2. Commitment - Fear Of - VINYL LP

Commitment is an inevitability. Guitarist Jake Smith and drummer Pierce Jordan knew each other for years as friends and musicians in Philadelphia who desired to explore a more straightforward and hard-hitting sound as songwriters in positions they'd played in the past, but never together. Smith and Jordan spent months playing together and getting a feel for each other's styles and viewpoints, specifically not making choices about a name or which influences to prioritize until the lineup was complete. As plain as it is that Commitment is about creating a pathway to new experiences, it's also about strengthening existing relationships. For the band, Smith dragged his lifelong friend Zach Bailey out of rock n' roll retirement to take up bass guitar. While not wanting to make any immediate decisions about other members, Smith and Jordan knew they wanted someone who had never played in a band before. A newcomer in any position results in a fresh perspective and approach, and at the front of a band typically includes a raw energy that often can't be reproduced. They found this in Tati Salazar. Tati had mainly existed as a solo musician under the name The Childlike Empress (now known as Le Siren) and had built a significant listenership doing so. True as can be to the world of music, but new to singing in a hardcore punk band, Tati jumped in feet first, fitting in so naturally as the band's vocalist that the rest of the band initially struggled to practice or even correctly perceive their new material without them.
