Vinyl LP pressing. Includes digital download. 2021 . Field Music return with Flat White Moon. Following their heptad of critically acclaimed albums that has seen them nominated for a Mercury Music Prize, perform on BBC's Later with Jools Holland and tour on both sides of the Atlantic, Flat White Moon began with the desire to play and to have fun. The initial recordings pushed a looser performance aspect to the fore, inspired by some of their very first musical loves; Free, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles. This playfulness became a way to offset the darkness and the sadness of many of the lyrics. Field Music take on the challenge of representing negative emotions in a way that doesn't dilute or obscure them but which can still uplift. The result is a generous record of bounteous musical ideas, in many ways Field Music's most immediately gratifying to date.

Meaning is the third full length album by the Brooklyn- and Philly-based indie rock group Field Mouse. While listeners have previously described Field Mouse's sound as something akin to a shoegazey dream pop, Meaning marks a decided turn to less obscured realms, perhaps more simply described by terms such as rock and roll or pop. In that vein, lead single InchHeart of GoldInch boasts all the makings of a quintessential guitar-pop hit, opening the record with determined bombast and urgency. It features guitarist and lead singer Rachel Browne's diaphanous vocals mirrored by feverish yet nimble guitar hooks, creating an organic, deftly layered rock composition.The album's other two singles, InchIn BlueInch and InchBlack Hole, SonInch indulge yet further in the band's pop proclivities, honed tirelessly over their 10 year-long existence. Largely abandoning the classic songwriting conventions embraced on 2010's Measure, Peter and David Brewis remodel the modular, fragmented style of their first two albums, only now it's shot through with the surreal abstractions of 20th-century film music from Bernstein to Willy Wonka and the off-beam Funk and pristine Synth Rock developed on the brothers' School of Language and the Week That Was albums.
