About This Item

Like very nearly every worthwhile thing, making this album was not easy; it was a difficult second album to make. Drawing inspiration from folk/rock from about 1965 to 1973, and Van Morrisons ASTRAL WEEKS in particular, HELPLESSNESS BLUES sees Fleet Foxes heighten and extend themselves, adding instrumentation (clarinet, the music box, pedal steel guitar, lap steel guitar, Tibetan singing bowls, vibraphone, etc., along with more traditional band instrumentation), with a focus on clear, direct lyrics, and an emphasis on group vocal harmonies. We have it on good authority that the album is called HELPLESSNESS BLUES for at least a couple of reasons. One, it's kind of a funny title. Secondly, one of the prevailing themes of the album is the struggle between who you are and who you want to be or who you want to end up, and how sometimes you are the only thing getting in the way of that. Having heard HELPLESSNESS BLUES, we mean to get out of it's way. Album Tracks 1. Montezuma 2. Bedouin Dress 3. Sim Sala Bim 4. Battery Kinzie 5. The Plains/Bitter Dancer 6. Helplessness Blues 1. The Cascades 2. Lorelei 3. Someone You'd Admire 4. The Shrine/An Argument 5. Blue Spotted Tail 6. Grown Ocean

Cher & Christina Aguilera - Burlesque - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack - VINYL LP

Limited gold colored vinyl LP pressing housed in gatefold jacket. Cher and Christina Aguilera, together? On the same soundtrack? Who cares that the Burlesque film garnered mixed reviews at best (though a lot of folks now regard the 2010 feature as a camp classic)? The soundtrack had no such difficulties; the album went Top 20 on the charts, won a Grammy nomination, and Cher's performance of InchYou Haven't Seen the Last of MeInch won a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. Aguilera's star turn was something of a coming-out party, too; not only did she enjoy critical acclaim for her first leading role in a film, but her musical contributions featuring a couple of Etta James songs and a cover of Marlene Dietrich's InchA Guy What Takes His Time' were sassy, jazzy, and brassy, not unlike her work on her #1 album from 2006, Back to Basics. In short, this one's a must for fans of either artist, and for this pressing, we at Real Gone Music have created a bling-y metallic gold vinyl edition housed inside a gatefold cover boasting some sensational production stills! Album Tracks 1. Something's Got a Hold on Me Christina Aguilera 2. Welcome to Burlesque Cher 3. Tough Lover Christina Aguilera 4. But I Am a Good Girl Christina Aguilera 5. Guy What Takes His Time Christina Aguilera 6. Express Christina Aguilera 7. You Haven't Seen the Last of Me Cher 8. Bound to You Christina Aguilera 9. Show Me How You Burlesque Christina Aguilera 10. The Beautiful People (From Burlesque) Christina Aguilera

David Bowie - Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps) (2017 Remastered Version)(Vinyl) - VINYL LP
      5.0(8)

Vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered edition. Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps), also known simply as Scary Monsters, is the 14th studio album by David Bowie, originally released in September 1980 by RCA Records. It was his final studio album on the tag and his first following his Berlin Trilogy of Low, Heroes and Lodger (1977-1979). Though considered very significant in artistic terms, the trilogy had proven less successful commercially. With Scary Monsters, Bowie achieved what biographer David Buckley called Inchthe perfect balanceInch of creativity and mainstream success as well as earning critical acclaim; the album peaked at #1 in the UK and restored Bowie's commercial standing in the US. Album Tracks 1. It's No Game (Part 1) [2017 Remastered Version] 2. Up the Hill Backwards (2017 Remastered Version) 3. Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps) [2017 Remastered Version] 4. Ashes to Ashes (2017 Remastered Version) 5. Fashion (2017 Remastered Version) 1. Teenage Wildlife (2017 Remastered Version) 2. Scream Like a Baby (2017 Remastered Version) 3. Kingdom Come (2017 Remastered Version) 4. Because You're Young (2017 Remastered Version) 5. It's No Game (Part 2) [2017 Remastered Version]

David Bowie - Lodger (2017 Remastered Version) - VINYL LP

Vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered edition. Lodger is the thirteenth studio album by David Bowie, originally released in May, 1979 by RCA Records. The last of the Berlin Trilogy, it was recorded in Switzerland and New York City with collaborator Brian Eno and producer Tony Visconti. Unlike Bowie's previous two albums, Lodger contained no instrumentals and a somewhat more pop-oriented style while experimenting with elements of world music and recording techniques inspired by Eno's Oblique Strategies cards. Experiments on the album included using old tunes played backwards, employing identical chord sequences for different songs and having the musicians play unfamiliar instruments. Album Tracks 1. Fantastic Voyage (2017 Remastered Version) 2. African Night Flight (2017 Remastered Version) 3. Move on (2017 Remastered Version) 4. Yassassin (Turkish for Long Live) [2017 Remastered Version] 5. Red Sails (2017 Remastered Version) 1. D.J. (2017 Remastered Version) 2. Look Back in Anger (2017 Remastered Version) 3. Boys Keep Swinging (2017 Remastered Version) 4. Repetition (2017 Remastered Version) 5. Red Money (2017 Remastered Version)
