Before I get into details, I love the watch. I used to run a lot more and in the early 2000's I had a polar and a suunto. Got more into hiking and switched to the Fenix. Love apple products and when the first apple watch with GPS came out, I got that. Then I got the ultra then the ultra 2. Apple is a smartwatch with fitness features. I got tired of nightly charging and all I really cared about was text and call notifications. I never used the music app on the apple and rarely used Apple Pay on the watch because my phone is always with me. I am heavily in the apple ecosystem so I was worried about switching. But I decided to make the switch back to Garmin which is a fitness watch with smartwatch features. I likely will never switch back to apple for a watch. The training metrics, sleep tracking, body battery are amazing. I'm not a crazy fitness person but just wanted a watch again that didn't need to be always on the charger and had more user information without needing an app installed. I shut off all notifications but calls and texts. We camp, hike and travel internationally, not having to charge all the time is a breath of fresh air. Not having the additional EM radiation from apple watch with cell is an added bonus. It has blood oxygen which apple still doesn't have due to legal issues. If you watch the quantified scientist, you learn that his reviews show that the Apple Watch HR is slightly better, but I can tell you that if you pair it with the chest strap, its more accurate and just the watch alone is accurate and I haven't noticed a significant difference. The watch looks better and Ive been wearing it for a week after my last charge and still have 21 days of battery life. The flashlight that's built in is wayyyyy better than the Apple Watch. My eyes aren't what they used to be and I can see the Garmin watch just fine inside and outside. The only issue I had was I had to add the ECG which wasn't on the watch out of the box. I had to call Garmin and trouble shoot but it was an easy fix. I also shoot a lot and didn't have any problems with the apple or the garmin. I find it easy to navigate once you learn where everything is at and watching a YouTube tutorial helped significantly. I was torn between the Fenix and this one, but I don't dive and didn't need the speaker for calls on the watch. This is what I would say to anyone on the fence. There's no perfect answer, both are great watches but the battery life and metrics to me are better on the garmin. The watch just looks better as well. The case size is not too big at all and its very light. I have not regretted buying it all and do not miss the Apple Watch. If you had a garmin before it's an easy transition, if you haven't it will be a a little bit of a learning curve, but when I say little I mean little learning curve. Im a Best Buy total tech member so having the extra year warranty is a plus, but had that on the apple too. One other thing that I love is the ability to edit a treadmill run. On the apple it always estimated me running a quarter mile further than I did. The garmin allows you to calibrate the distance at the end of the run which is great. And because my apple phone reads health data from the garmin app, my wife still gets notified of me completing my workouts, and at this age anything to let my wife know I'm trying to stay healthy is a plus..lol.

Very practical must buy it or wait 2 years for... I purchased it just before hiking the Alta Via #1 which is Italy's best and most important high route in the Dolomites and I have to say that even with knowing very little about the watch overall capabilities I was able to use the GPS and route options very well with very little knowledge. The battery is amazing, it got me going for 7 days in the Dolomites. If you are on the fence, like I have been for 5 years, on which Garmin watch to get, I think you can buy this one with confidence. Battery, weight, heart rate monitor upgrades, clear solar across the top and overall visibility takes Enduro 3 to a totally new level compared to Fenix 7 and previous models. Maybe the only thing that could possibly get you waiting longer for is... a deal. I would wait until you can get some discounts otherwise after 3 months of owning it my recommendation is simply to buy this model. Why not to buy this watch? People say is big, I say is bold! If you buy this watch you must be bold too so buy it!

Amazing watch, but I returned it. I had the Enduro 1 and Enduro 2 before get the Enduro 3. This was so far the worst in terms of heart rate reading in running. I never get a acceptable HR reading with this watch. Things that they improved from last version: -Weight -Battery Things better in the old version: -Flashlight is brighter -Titanium on the back (new version is polymer) -Comes with rubber and nylon bands I returned for the Enduro 2, paying $350 less than Enduro 3. I will wait they fix the issues with HR and maybe I can go for enduro 3 again.
