Varia RearVue 820 is the rearview radar and tail light that alerts you to approaching vehicles on your compatible Edge cycling computer, Garmin smartwatch or Varia app on your smartphone. With our most powerful and precise radar tracking technology, it detects vehicle size and threat level with a wider field of view. The radar tracking technology identifies vehicles that are following cyclists at the same speed or attempting to pass (same-speed tracking is limited or may be unavailable at slower speeds or when the radar cannot detect the road because of weather conditions or obstructions). The tail light is visible from up to 2 km (1.24 miles) away and has a unique brake light flash pattern to alert other road users when you’re slowing down or stopping. For peace of mind and awareness on the longest of rides, get up to 24 hours of battery life in day flash mode and up to 30 hours of battery life in radar-only mode.

With our most powerful and precise radar tracking technology, Varia RearVue 820 radar detects vehicles approaching from up to 175 meters (more than 190 yards) away with a wider field of view.
Bright tail light and brake light
Our brightest tail light means you’ll be visible from up to 2 km (1.24 miles) away. A brake light detects when you’re slowing or stopping and displays a unique flash pattern.
Advanced vehicle tracking
See alerts for small, medium and large vehicles, and see when a vehicle changes lanes, along with its threat level — when riding with the latest compatible Edge cycling computers or the Varia app on your smartphone.
Get alerts your way
For visual and audible alerts while you ride, connect this radar to the Varia smartphone app, compatible Edge cycling computers or Garmin smartwatches. In addition to haptic alerts on your wrist, select Garmin smartwatches can also give voice alerts for approaching vehicles — this feature is currently available in the Garmin Public Beta program for select smartwatches.
Variety of light pattern options
Ride with four different light patterns: day flash, night flash, solid mode and peloton mode, which helps preserve the eyes of riders behind you. Create your own custom light patterns in the Varia app on your smartphone.
Compact design
A sleek, compact design and new seatpost mount means Varia RearVue 820 fits cleanly onto almost any road or gravel bicycle and is compatible with the Varia seat rail mount kit (sold separately).

When used with your compatible smartphone, the Varia app helps increase your awareness with vibration alerts and more. With daylight visibility up to 1 mile, motorists will be able to see you from a distance. The radar’s compact vertical design allows for device mounting on most road-use bicycles. And peloton mode provides a low-intensity flash that is kind to other riders’ eyes when riding in a group.

The Varia RCT715 rearview radar with camera and tail light continuously records your ride and automatically saves footage before, during and after events if it detects an incident. The bright tail light makes you more visible to motorists. And Varia RCT715 integrates seamlessly with your Garmin bike computer or the Varia mobile app on your paired smartphone to alert you to traffic as you ride. The app lets you easily access your footage, transfer videos or customize camera settings such as data overlays. A selection of operation modes lets you flex camera and tail light features to maximize battery life for longer rides. It records crisp, clear video in 4K and saves footage automatically if it detects an incident (requires memory card, not included; jurisdiction restrictions may apply). The headlight has up to 600 lumens of light intensity and side illumination. Other smart features include a cutoff beam and auto brightness control that adjusts to your speed and light conditions when paired with your compatible Edge cycling computers. Varia Vue has up to 7 hours of battery life in day flash mode with camera recording. Simultaneously record rear-facing footage with your Varia RCT715 radar camera tail light. With the Varia app, you can also control camera and light functions, edit videos and add data overlays.
