We had a GE Profile 2.0 cu. ft microwave (PEB2060SMSS) that, after 14 years, decided it had popped it's last bag of popcorn. So, given our space, we started looking for another GE Profile the same size; those don't exist (Profiles now 2.2 cu. ft). However, we found this non-Profile GE that's the same size. We initially viewed this microwave in store and quickly realized that this microwave is not just the same size, it is in fact the GE Profile we bought in 2008 just without the Profile name. The door and controls have a different look, but the rest of the microwave...every single detail...is the same. And, though the control panel looks a little different, the functions/buttons are the same as the old Profile version. The biggest differences are that the stainless in the new version is much much thinner and the display is green instead of blue. Why does this matter to you? Well, if you are replacing a cabinet installed 2.0 cu. ft GE Profile with a trim kit (GE JX2030SMSS in our case) and are looking to replace it without breaking the bank, this microwave will fit like a glove. We reused our old 30 inch trim kit with this "new" microwave just fine. FYI. The trim kit alone for the new Profiles costs more than this microwave. Before you jump out of your chair and run to buy one of these, be aware that GE says that this rear-vented microwave is not supposed to be installed in a cabinet. This may be a liability related decision on GE's part, but since we used this design intalled for 14 years without issue installed with the GE trim kit, we decided it was safe enough to use. One final note is that the trim kit we have included a vent duct installed on the side of the microwave where there is a vented opening. When I opened up the old microwave I found that there is nothing behind that vented opening and that the only venting in reality is to the rear. While I would give our old microwave 5 stars, I'm only giving this one 4 stars because the stainless trim on the door and controls is really thin and cheap. In fact, even though the box it was in was in perfect shape, there are small dents in the stainless of both the door and controls. On the one we saw in store, the door did not align properly.

This model GCST20S1WSS is nearly identical to a 2010 model JEB 1860SM1SS, which I just replaced using the existing trim. The term “countertop” means it could be used on the counter or placed in an opening above the oven as I did. Open the oven door and unscrew the four pan screws holding the trim, remove and set aside. Remove the screws holding the bottom inner trim mounting frame from the cabinet opening edge. With a helper, slide the old oven out, unplug it from the 110 outlet at the rear of the cabinet. Important. Before inserting the new, you must unlock the child proof oven door using the thumb screw on the right side and permanently unlock it per the instructions by turning the thumb screw with a Phillips head. Slide in the new unlocked oven and reinstall the trim.

We appreciate you leaving your feedback with us. Please know that this microwave is countertop installation only. Installing it above your range is not recommended, as it will void your warranty. We also don't recommend altering the trim or door of your unit. <img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/stratos-logos/logos/GE_Appliances.jpg" alt="GE_Appliances" title="GE_Appliances" style="display: block !important; margin-top: 2em !important; border: 1px solid #ccc !important; padding: 2px !important; background-color: white !important;" />

It's big enough to fit something rather tall/large. It has a nice rotating glass plate. It's a pretty black microwave. High wattage.

Bought this online on a Sunday and the microwave arrived at my house Tuesday early afternoon - great shipping time! It is great that the old trim kit fits.........our microwave from 2011 was a GE Profile 2.0 cu. ft microwave (model PEB2060SMSS) that was a "built in" installed with a trim kit. With trim kits being about $225 I was hoping to find another GE that would fit using the same trim kit - so I bought this model (JES2051SNSS) and it fit perfectly with the old trim kit. The website says a new trim kit was needed but it was wrong. Even the screw holes in the body of the microwave were in exactly the same place! Thank you GE for keeping the compatibility from year to year. The photo in the cabinet is the new one installed; the others are the old one. Only had it for a few days but looks good, almost the same as the old one, and it works well

My wife and I both LOVE this microwave much better than our previous one! It heats liquids and solids much more consistently and throughly. It does have multiple auto buttons with sensor cooking for popcorn, beverages, potato, vegetable and chicken/fish. It has a Defrost with Auto/Time features. I love the Add 30 seconds button. Plus, my wife LOVES that the light inside is on and bright when heating. Our previous one was so dim, you couldn't keep an eye on the food you were cooking or liquid you were heating. My wife's only suggestion to GE is that our previous microwave had preset buttons for melting (butter/chocolate) and soften (butter) when she's baking. She can do these actions with this microwave but has to program these manually. She liked just being able to push a button (thus her 4 rating for Cook Setting; I'd have given it a 5).

While it was a little bigger than I planned (thats on me for not using a tape measure), this thing pumps out power and cooks my food with consistency. Previously, I had to adjust or outright abandon some deep frozen foods because the previous wasnt powerful enough. This is also large enough to accommodate my much larger, American-sized plates (we do love our food here). My tenants also grew to love it and it was a much more economical option that doing new wiring for an over the range version. Absolutely worth buying preowned.

Pretty good microwave but there is only minimal instructions for it; 2 pages & it doesn’t cover much & I couldn’t find an online manual. I had a problem getting it to run when I put food into & didn’t push start right away, then it wouldn’t run. I found if “start”isn’t pushed within 5 min. of putting food in it , it won’t start. Now somehow the volume has been turned off & it makes no sounds so I don’t know when it finishes cooking & when the timer goes off, it makes no sound & there are no instructions about the sounds. It otherwise is easy to use, defrosts well, has a popcorn button, the express add 30 seconds button & six express cook buttons are handy. There is no “melt” button which I do miss.

Model number on Box is JES2051SNSS which was what was ordered.. Model number on Warranty card is JES2051SN4SS Serial Number: AS207178L Cost: $279.99 This microwave oven performs as expected from this well known brand. However, there are noteworthy and unexpected negatives: No printed User Manual. User must download and print 36 pages. The control features are diminished from what is advertised: 1. No HELP button 2. Beeper ON/OFF instead of Beeper Volume 3. No scroll speed control There are minor nuisance control panel Issues: 1. The display is somewhat occluded by masking which limits field of view 2. The control buttons are hard to press, especially for seniors or persons with long nails.

This fits perfectly into our cutout space for our old built-in microwave. In fact, this GE model was the only microwave available with these dimensions. The functions are typical and easy to use. GE is always a reliable brand for my family.

Fits Perfectly in the space I needed. I love that there is a way to silence the beep when you use the keypad and the end cycle, so it doesn't keep beeping.

I got this to replace older microwave. The old microwave was a beast and didn’t play well with others. This microwave has a large cooking area and just enough technical controls that don’t overwhelm the cook.

Bought used-excellent and looked new. Good value, especially if it's on sale. GE says it's intended for countertop only but i managed to replace my maytag buil-in microwave that died after 12 years with this one. It was a bit tight for the existing trim-kit but seems to fit. I have read some reviews that used an older GE profile trim kit that was an exact match. Seems solid. Not too loud. Seems to heat well. Just a few minor things that could make it outstanding like if it included inverter technology. Also, the clock is only fully visible if looking directly in front, and buttons are clustered together making it hard to find when trying move fast. Otherwise, it's great.

Great size for my kitchen and family of 5. I was confused whether to buy 1.5 versus 2 ft. I am very happy with my choice. It fits perfectly well on my kitchen island. It does not come with choices of colors as far as I know. Indian match exactly with the color of my refrigerator.

Our GE Profile went out that was only 4 years old. We we were looking for a microwave to replace it and thought of going with another brand. We needed one to fit into cabinet and be able to use the current frame we had after finding out the frame as $279 alone. We found out by reading reviews that there are others that have used this microwave to replace their profile and were pleased. Wel to say the least we are very pleased! It fits into the space our other microwave was in & we were able to use the same frame. The only thing that didn’t match up was the holes one the back of the microwave so we swapped out the backs and worked perfectly now. We love the new design of the curved back inside of the microwave too.

Bought this to replace a built-in GE Profile microwave that broke. This was less than half the price of a replacement GE Profile, and fit into the existing frame with just a 3/8” board underneath to let it sit level. (It fit the face plate, but the interior frame too high. We unscrewed that interior piece and put down a board. Easy! Microwave looks and works great.

My last GE microwave died after 10 years of use. However, GE disconnected the model so researching online I was informed that this was the replacement for the old model. So far we are very happy with the purchase.
