    • Freezer Type: Chest (Chest freezers have a lid that lifts from above and open storage space within, helpful for storing bulk items. Upright freezers open from the front and provide vertical storage, which helps keep items accessible. Column freezers are similar to upright but are typically built-in to complement existing spaces.)
    • Convertible To Refrigerator: false
    • Defrost Type: Manual (Ice build-up can reduce the appliance’s cooling capacity, making it work harder and consume more energy. Defrosting is necessary to maintain its efficiency and each type has its own advantages depending on user needs and preferences. Manual defrost appliances require unplugging to melt ice naturally, but offer more space, lower energy consumption, and lower cost without the internal heating element. Frost-free appliances regulate temperature to prevent ice build-up automatically. Automatic defrost systems use a timer to circulate heat and prevent ice accumulation, while adaptive defrost systems use sensors to determine the optimal times for heat circulation.)

Please refer to the manufacturer's documentation for detailed external operating temperature requirements.)

Q: does this freezer work in an unheated garage

A: Yes, it is rated for garage use.

Q: I see interior dimensions of approximately 27.5 H by 24 W by 15 Deep. Is there a hump of unusable space to allow for the compressor within those measurements, or will I have all of that space for food?

A: Hi - This model does have a "hump". The dimensions of this hump are approximately: 8.2"H x 8.2"W x 14.78"D. •The interior dimensions of the freezer are approximately: 27.5"H x 23.8"W x 14.7"D. Keep in touch! Sue

Q: Does anyone know the dimensions of the carton? I need to know if it will fit into my SUV tailgate.

A: Hi Ineedafreezer- The carton size is: 30.3" Width x 34.8" Height x 22.6" Depth. We hope it fits! SUE@GEA

Q: Our freezer came with no cover on the back where the electrical cord comes out. There are screw holes there but it's all open right to the motor. Is this right?

A: There's no cover for it mine is open to if you are using it in the garage just make a temporary cover with cardboard and duct tape will solve your problem and yes they do not put covers on that back there or use something else entirely to your discretion differently cardboard will do it its in the back you'll never see it i have mine in the house for rodent free area hope this helps

Q: I just purchased this chest freezer and it’s working great, however I noticed two pin size holes on the gasket seal (one each side near the hinges). Does anyone know if this is normal and if it will impact the chest freezer, ice buildup, etc. Thanks.

A: Hello JSJSJS331, Thank you for reaching out. We're happy to answer your question. These holes are for vacuum release. The lid of the unit would be very difficult to open without these holes. Frost in this area is normal. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to us via social media or through our Contact Us page. We hope this helps. Best wishes. Mike@GEA

Q: How much amperage does this freezer draw? Does it require GF circuit?

A: Hi Jjm1274, thanks for reaching out to us and for your patience. We truly appreciate you considering this amazing garage ready chest freezer for your home and are happy to answer this for you! The running amps for this freezer is 1.2. We would recommend multiplying that by 2 to account for the surge or start-up amps that the freezer will draw when the compressor cycles on. It requires a 120-volt individual, properly grounded branch circuit with a 3 prong grounding type receptacle, protected by a 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker or time-delay fuse on a dedicated circuit. Please feel free to reach back out to us if you have any additional questions about the necessary electrical connections or installing it in the future. We are always happy to help! -Eliza@GEA

Q: What exactly makes this "garage ready"? I see another brand that sells a freezer and it looks identical to this (same triangular shaped temp. control, identical interior pattern) that states it should not be in garages that go below 50f.

A: Hi John, Thank you for reaching out. We're happy to answer. "Garage ready" models are models that can perform at room temperatures ranging between 0 degrees F and 110 degrees F. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us. We're always happy to help. Keep in touch! Mike@GEA
