GE Gas Dryer: Make laundry day a breeze with this gas dryer, which features a generous 7.2 cu. ft. capacity that handles your household's large loads. Plus, ensure your laundry isn't drying for too long with HE Sensor Dry, which monitors the temperature and moisture levels to set the ideal dry time.
Q: Does this dryer come with the power cord installed?
A: Yes it DOES come with a cord installed. It's a standard 110V gas dryer. I was confused by the details and also called GE direct. They said no cord also. The instruction manual is WRONG. This DOES come pre-wired with about 5' of cord. I really should follow up and get them to change the info. On another note, this dryer comes with TWO (2) sensors - a heat and moisture sensor. We're not sure that the moisture sensor is working and need to test it. We did get the extended warranty. Hope this helps! So far, so good.
A: Hello- Thank you for your question. If you open the door to add something really quick the dryer can still stay on. This is normal operation. When a dryer timer is set on a Timed function, the timer knob will advance incrementally. This is normal. When the dryer is set to an automatic cycle, the timer will advance sporadically. At times, it may appear that the timer is not advancing; however, if the timer advances periodically during the indicated cycle this is a normal operation. The automatic thermostat control system continually senses the temperature of the air in the dryer drum. Wet laundry keeps this air cool. When the laundry is dry enough, the heat turns off. If the timer is not advancing in the Automatic cycle and/or the Timed cycle, it will require diagnosis to determine what parts are needed. If you have any additional questions in the future, please let us know. We are here to help! Joyce@GEA
Q: How do I get the dryer to the maximum heat so it can dry faster?
A: Hey there, we appreciate you finding time to reach out to us. We're sorry to say there is no way to increase the heat on your dryer, so we would like to apologize if it's taking longer than expected. We know this can be annoying and we're happy to help. We suggest trying the following: 1) Using the proper venting material and making sure the vent ductwork is the proper length is very important to the operation of a dryer. GE Appliances recommends the use of a solid metal vent pipe 4" in diameter for adequate operation. 2) Remove and clean the lint filter each time it is used. The filter can be washed with warm soapy water to remove fabric softener residue from the screen. 3) Improper sorting can cause drying difficulty. Do not mix heavy, hard-to-dry items with lightweight items. We hope this is beneficial to you and we're wishing you the very best. - Guy@GEA
Q: Would a down comforter fit in this size dryer?
A: Hey there, and thanks for your interest in this gas dryer! We know how important adequate space is to ensure all your items fit properly into your dryer, and are glad to advise this dryer has 7.2 cu. ft. of capacity. While we can't address your specific comforter without knowing more about its size, this is considered a larger than usual capacity and will fit most items. The overall size, density and thickness should be taken into account when deciding whether to use the machine for the comforter, but as long as the item is not stuffed tightly into the tub and is able to move freely for proper drying, the performance should not be negatively affected. We hope this is helpful, but are more than happy to assist if you have any other questions or concerns. Wishing you all the best! -Sarah@GEA
A: Hello- Thanks so much for checking with us. We are happy to help! Mixing "lint producing" fabrics with "lint collecting" fabrics allows lint to transfer to other garments, instead of being trapped in the lint filter. This is one of the most frequently found causes of linting. Solutions: Separate lint producers (flannel, cotton knits, terry towels) from lint collectors (fuzzy, brushed fabrics, synthetic blends. ex. corduroy, acrylic blankets, children's sleepwear). Separate dark colors from white and light-colored items. The filter should be cleaned after every cycle. Please keep in mind the lint filter isn't going to capture all lint and pet hair. We recommend using an extendable brush or a vacuum with an attachment to get any excess lint or hair out of the filter compartment. If you feel there is an issue that needs to be addressed, please reach out to GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737. Thank you! Joyce@GEA
Q: Will the dryer heat if there are no clothes to dry in the machine?
A: Hello- Thanks so much for checking with us. The dryer will still heat even if there aren't any clothes or towels inside. It may stop frequently due to the sensors. Note: We don't recommend running the dryer without anything inside. If you have any questions in the future, please let us know. We are always happy to help! Joyce@GEA
