Q: I understand that some induction brands draw power even when the unit is not in use. Does this GE unit (or any of the GE induction cooktops) draw power when the unit is not in use. If so, what is the power consumption rate (e.g., kilowatt-hours).

A: Hello - While in standby mode, the cooktop uses 1 watt of standby power or 0.004 amps. The KW rating at 208V is 9.6 and the KW rating at 240V is 11.1. The amp rating for 208V and 240V is 50. We hope this information is helpful. Please reach out to us if you have additional questions. Kind regards. -Don@GEA

Q: Do I need a vent or downdraft with this cooktop?

A: Hello lynne4birds, This is Michelle with GE Appliances and I am happy to answer your question. GE Appliances does not require a ventilation system with our cooktops, including this induction model PHP9036SJSS. However, we do suggest you check the local codes in your area to determine if a vent is necessary in your area. Thank you for checking.

Q: How many power levels does each cooking zone have?

A: Hi! Wonderful question. Each burner will have 19 power levels, this includes Low and High settings. Hope this is helpful! If you've got other questions, know that you're always free to reach out. Happy cooking. -Michael@GEA
