Gloom in the Corner - Royal Discordance (jewel case) - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

2022 . Immersed in a world in which a disorienting clock ticks out of time and red clouds swirl forebodingly amidst a lingering sense of death and destruction, The Gloom in the Corner's sophomore record Trinity, transports listeners deep within a universe of the band's own creation. Known for their Inchcinema-coreInch style and theatrical concept-based releases, the Australian quartet's elaborate lore impressively connects their entire discography, pushing the narrative forward with each new body of work. Picking up from 2020 EP Ultima Pluvia, Trinity chronicles the tale of formerly deceased characters Rachel Barker, Ethan Hardy, and Clara Carne as they battle their way through the hellish Rabbit Hole dimension. And, whether it be by way of symphonic elements, storytelling, brutal breakdowns, or formidable guest features including Ryan Kirby (Fit For A King), Joe Badolato (Fit For An Autopsy), Ryo Kinoshita (Crystal Lake), and Elijah Witt (Cane Hill), to help bring the story to life, The Gloom in the Corner have successfully transformed thirteen songs into a soundtrack that would feel perfectly at home on one's personal stereo or a Broadway stage alike. GLOOM earns a place in the pantheon of heavy music in closer proximity to timeless giants than forgettable clones. GLOOM represents honesty in it's glorious heaviness, philosophically and musically. The fact that Musicians Institute graduate Dante Dalton, the band's guitarist, has worked on film scores will come as no surprise after hearing the more cinematic moments within. Drummer Albert Born is a trained aerospace engineer; it would be both an easy joke to say that his propulsive pummeling gives the band a lift. Like the rest of his close friends in the band, bassist Jason Sayell offers a true emotional outpouring. Their music is deadly serious and cathartic, while the guys are fun loving and easygoing in everyday life. Album Tracks 1. Fallen 2. Perseus 3. Orbits 4. Cede 5. Coronation 6. Naught 7. 1% Empty 8. Worm's second album, the early 2020 Gloomlord, was a precursor to the massive impact that would make the world tremble on 2021's Foreverglade. Itself a large stylistic leap forward from Worm's debut album, Gloomlord brought the band to wider attention and the Floridian funeral doom contained within has since amassed a cult-like following of it's own.Until now Gloomlord has been a somewhat difficult score in the States and often unavailable. As such, with the band now firmly at home on 20 Buck Spin and looking to make it's first live appearances in 2023 it was time to sate the increasing demand and make Gloomlord easily available to the masses. As an added bonus the album has been completely re-mastered by Greg Chandler of the funereal legends Esoteric at Priory Recording Studios in the UK. And like the Foreverglade and Bluenothing vinyl releases, the reissued Gloomlord now comes with a huge poster insert. With those added aspects lead progenitor Phantom Slaughter considers this the definitive version of Gloomlord.InchGloomlord is one of those magnificent albums that is likely to hook the right kind of listener immediately on the sheer strength of it's holistic sound and vision, but it will continue to reveal careful detail the more and closer one listens.Inch -Last Rites Album Tracks 1.
