Google - Pixel Watch 5 (41mm) - Wi-Fi - Matte Black Case - Obsidian Band - Small, Large - (2026)

Google has released the Pixel Watch 5. With new features, Gemini integration, an AI backed health coach, just to name a few, this is a good updated model of the Pixel Watch series. In The Box What I got in the box was the Pixel Watch 5, watch band, and charging dock. The notch side of the watch band has two sizes to accommodate anyone. It to me a few seconds to see how the band connects to the watch, but after that, I got each side connected. Setup Setup was very straightforward. It didn’t take long to get up and running. The prompts were simple and easy to follow. Google Pay, Gemini, and the health app were easy to setup. I didn’t run into any problems with setting up the watch or any of it’s features. Configuration is also streamlined to be simple. Features Google Pay is nice to have. It keeps me from having to take my phone out of my pocket to use it at the store. Gemini worked flawlessly. Add in the gesture feature, that allows me to raise my arm and turn my wrist toward me and say Hey Google to activate the assistant, simplifies the use of the assistant. I have to admit that this is, to me, the best feature of the watch. I can use this without having to take my phone out of my pocket and the voice interface through the watch works really well. The speaker on the watch is clear, so I’m able to hear the assistant’s responses clearly. I have also paired my Bluetooth earbuds with it, so I can hear the assistant’s responses through those when I’m out walking or jogging. The integration with the Health app is a plus and I would say my second best feature. The Health keeps track of so many metrics. Sleep, heart rate, exercises, SPo2, calories burned, and many others. Google has integrated an AI (Gemini) backed health coach. This was a great idea by Google and it works really well. I typically walk to my grocery store, so I use the watch to track the walk. The thing is that when I stop walking and I’m waiting in line to check out, the watch automatically sees this as the end of the walk. When I finish checking out, and begin the second half of the walk, it logs it as a second walk exercise. The health coach though saw this as one and merged the walks together automatically. It also noticed that the second half of the walk involved a higher heart rate so it asked me what was the cause of the pause and the slightly increased heart rate on the second half of the walk. I pointed out the reason for the pause and that the second half of the walk involved me carrying multiple bags of groceries in each hand. The equivalent of carrying a 6-8 lb. dumbbell in each hand on the second leg of the walk. It understood what that ment and suggested a few stretches to unwind from that. The health coach also has made suggestions to help me get to sleep sooner and to help get more restorative sleep. I has helped a lot and I really like it. The battery life is ok. I can get 1.5 days of battery life out of it. It would be nice to see 3+ days, but I have the 41mm sized version, so the battery can’t be very big. The next size up likely has a larger battery and may last a little longer. The charge cradle that comes with it allows me to set the watch on it’s side while charging. It keeps the watch face vertical so I can see the time on the watch face while it is charging. I like that. My other smart watches I have to lay down horizontal which doesn’t allow me to see the watch face. Google thought the cradle through when designing it. Charging the Pixel Watch is fast. Two contacts on the cradle touch two contacts on the watch. It allows for reducing the amount of time it takes to charge up to 100%. Final Thoughts This is a good addition to Google’s line of watches. They have stepped it up with this version. I like the direction Google is going with the Pixel Watch 5. If you are looking for a smart watch that also allows for the easy use of an AI assistant and tracks a tremendous number of health metrics with an AI backed health coach, then consider the Google Pixel Watch 5.

This is my first time with a Google watch. I wanted to experience the full Android/Google platform. Connected to my pixel phone. Out of the box comes with three wrist bands and the charger cable. No wall plug is included. It took longer than it should to connect to my pixel phone. While my other major brand android kept picking it up. After finally connecting to the pixel. I started going through the settings. Several customized watch faces are available. You can also customize trackers like steps, weather, heart rate, etc. I have the 41 millimeter version. The face is small but it's easy to use and navigate. There is one physical button that can be pressed or turned. Swipe functions can be used to navigate through the watch. Widgets, apps and other functions can be added through the app store. Voice commands can also be used with this watch. The watch does not charge from the rear but through its side. This is a negative point for me because most devices can be charged wirelessly from the rear. Overall this is great watch to start with.

It’s a nice watch for android users. Tracks all the activity and good sync with pixel phone.

Battery life is the best but the screen freezes and locks which makes it undesirable

Pros: -Good battery life -Easy to operate -Comfortable -Alerts Cons: -Did not pair with my Pixel 8 The Pixel 5 is a light and comfortable watch. I use it mainly to monitor my health and track my sleep, which it does a good job of. It charges fast and has good battery life. This was intended to be paired with my Pixel 8 phone, however I had issues pairing it, and instead had to pair it with my Samsung S24 Ultra. Setting up was a troubled start. First, I tried to pair this with my Pixel 8, since it’s supposed to be seamless and integrated with it. However it would not pair at all. Both the phone and app were up to date. After about 30 minutes and multiple attempts, I gave up and paired it with my Samsung S24 Ultra instead, which was my main phone anyways. It paired instantly, so it may have been an issue with my Pixel 8. I was able to download the health app and pair it with it, which took a little bit of messing around with since the health app was previously part of the FitBit program and I had to migrate my account first. Once paired, everything went smoothly. The watch is overall very comfortable and light. Some of the previous watches I used gave me skin irritation, as I'm pretty allergic to some materials, but this one has been good so far. The battery life overall is pretty good. It lasted about 42 hours, and it charged fairly quickly as well, going from zero to 100% in roughly 40 minutes. I just plug it in daily in the morning as I’m getting ready. One very minor gripe is that the charging puck is a tad bulky and that I’ll have another cable to take when I’m traveling. The alerts sent to my watch are fairly accurate, and the screen is pretty clear. I get pictures of people coming to my door from my Google Home camera system, as well as other various alerts that have pictures. The built in apps work flawlessly and are very intuitive and easy to operate. The biggest benefit for me is that it does a very good job of tracking my sleep. I am noticing patterns where I could improve things, and will be going to a sleep study to compare notes of what the watch sees and what they see from their devices. Hopefully with continued use, I will be able to improve my sleep and overall health by tracking steps and activities. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with this watch. It’s comfortable to wear and the battery life is good. It tracks my sleep well, and the alerts and apps are useful as well. I did have some trouble setting it up with my Pixel phone, but that may be an issue with that phone in particular as it was able to pair with my Samsung without issues.
