Graham Reynolds - Hit Man (Original Soundtrack) - VINYL LP

Part of Fire's ongoing series of re-imagined soundtracks. Following on from Fenella, Jane Weaver's score for Marcell Jankovics Feherlofia', and Death and Vanilla's reworking of 'The Tenant' and 'Vampyr'.A specially recorded soundtrack for Alfred Hitchcock's legendary Ripper-based drama by multi-award-winning composer Graham Reynolds (Where Do You Go, Bernadette/A Scanner Darkly). 'The Lodger' - based on Marie Belloc Lowndes' 1913 novel with a nod to the infamous Jack The Ripper case - set many hearts racing when visiting the East End of London and an unexpected fog descended. The drama was afoot, and the tension has been further escalated with a re-imagined score by multi award-winning composer, bandleader, and innovative improvisor, Graham Reynolds. This tale of murder and suspense set on the streets of terrorised London is eerily completed as Reynolds' sweeps from light to dark; it's playful in places, haunting, a tease - like Hitchcock at his best. Nowhere is safe, even the seemingly innocuous 'Police Station' which is accompanied by a brooding piece of maniacal piano that underpins a gloriously evocative theme; a haunting and suggestive muse that stutters with tension. It's another Reynolds' master stroke on the heels of his score for Richard Linklater's 'Where Do You Go, Bernadette', his work on Ballet Austin's 'Grimm Tales' and his contribution to 'The Sound Of Science', a multimedia collaboration with Kronos Quartet's former cellist Jeffery Zeigler.InchThe quintessential modern composerInch London IndependentInchRich and inventiveInch VarietyInchA rare talentInch PopmattersSide AA1 - The LodgerA2 - When He Sits at the TableA3 - Golden CurlsA4 - Tempting ProvidenceA5 - You Will Not RestSide BB1 - The SatchelB2 - Keep Your Handcuffs HiddenB3 - Police StationB4 - A Kiss on the HandB5 - The Chase

When Welsh twins Stewart & Paul Summers (Ten Benson / The Sharp Tongues) started some experimental recordings combining psychedelia, poetry and punk rock, the resulting songs got them thinking... Recruiting old touring comrades Sam Mansbridge (The Rumblestrips) on bass, Hanna Edgren (Tits Of Death) on keys and vocals and Gui Rujao (Los Pepes) on drums, DaemöniK Fonce were fully formed and some gigs hastily arranged. Invited to support bands including Sea Power & Jim Jones and the Righteous Mind, the transformation from home studio project to fully fledged jaw dropping live band was complete. The band debunked to Newport's West Sounds Studios in South Wales. Working with Richard Jackson (previous production credits include Gruff Rhys, Dub War, Martin Carr, Future Of The Left) an album soaked with a kaleidoscope of inspirations and imaginations was produced. What you hear is a reflection of you, the listener. This band obviously LOVE MUSIC, LOVE BANDS, LOVE ROCK'N'ROLL.. Deep thinking with heavy personality pulling in references from Fairport Convention, S*x Pistols, LKJ, JCC, Hawkwind, Buzzcocks and Magazine.
