About this product
Gregory Hutchinson's InchKind of Now - The Pulse of Miles DavisInch is a fascinating and highly rewarding album that breathes new life into some of the immortal classics from Miles Davis' repertoire, such as Charlie Parker's InchAh-Leu-ChaInch or Miles' own InchSeven Steps to HeavenInch, discounting the obvious while closing in on the deep cuts. The leader's excellent drum interludes tie this hour-long program tightly together, adding a futuristic newness that's all in Hutch's time. The overall quality and density of InchKind of NowInch has everything to do with the musicians involved, a great group of young legends and lions carefully selected by the leader, just the way Miles used to do Ambrose Akinmusire (trumpet), Ron Blake (tenor saxophone, bass clarinet), Jakob Bro (guitar), Emmanuel Michael (guitar), Gerald Clayton (piano) Joe Sanders (double bass). Album Tracks 1. Ah-Leu-Cha 2. Fran-Dance 3. Fall 4. Orbits 5. The Masters (Interlude) 6. Feio 7. Water Babies 8. Seven Steps to Heaven 9. Bi**hes Brew 10. Black Comedy 11. Ellehcem's Time 12. Circle in the Round 13. I'm Done

Acclaimed tenor Gregory Kunde marks his 70th birthday by making his first foray outside operatic repertoire with an album inspired by his childhood jukebox favorites. During a career that took him from a small town in Illinois to the international opera stage, Greg has retained his love for the songs which represent the soundtrack of his younger years. With this album he realizes a long-held dream to follow in the footsteps of legendary artists such as Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, Tony Bennett and Bobby Darin, using his vast operatic experience to create personal and unique interpretations of some of the best American songs ever written alongside an ensemble of brass, percussion and bass.
