![Black Diamond Trio - Black Diamond Trio - COMPACT DISCS [CD]](https://pisces.bbystatic.com/image2/BestBuy_US/images/products/9f0700b0-0bd0-4f7c-8e13-720b45e365f8.jpg;maxHeight=422;maxWidth=264?format=webp)
An ethno-pop/psyche rarity, the Black Diamond Trio's 1979 self-titled album centers around an Israeli trio composed of Avner Zadok (guitar, vocals), Miri Mor (vocals), and Richard Peritz (guitar, vocals) backed by bass, drums, flute, and aided by the string section of Israel's Philharmonic orchestra. The flavor here is mellow psychedelia with the group singing in both Hebrew and English, with excellent musicianship from all involved. Black Diamond was the nickname of a young major in an Israeli intelligence unit who introduced Peritz to the well know Israeli songwriter Zadok, which led to this trio being formed. Original copies of this unusual LP sell for hundreds of dollars, making it exceedingly rare. At long last, this unique album has been newly remastered and finally made available again.
