Heavy Petting Crew - Songs Our Pets Taught Us - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Klaus Schulze - La Vie Electronique 15 [COMPACT DISCS] Reissue date 02/07/2025

Heavy Creatures started making music together in the fall of 2004 in DUMBO, Brooklyn in a 140 year old monolithic warehouse basement. The place is haunted with ancient sailors, withered pines and sparkling red rubies. With the cohesion of all of these elements, a wonderful incantation of rock, traditional work song, sea shanty choruses and psychedelia has been born. Their debut recording Loaded Sky, hits you immediately with the pummeling instrumental opener 'Black Roller' and goes straight into 'Mid Night Mares' which showcases the duo vocal intensity of Sarah and Kelley. Loaded Sky takes the listener through an up and down psychedelic landscape that ranges from loud to ethereal and back again. Each band member hails from a musical background. Kelley Vaughn (guitar-vocals) is from a family of southern gospel piano players and this is her first musical project. Sarah Blust ( keyboard-vocals -percussion) (also ex-Marmalade, Succubus) has been in many musical projects since her days at Oberlin in the early 90s. She is also currently in the political marching band The Rude Mechanical Orchestra and plays drums with the band Flaming Fire. Patrick Kauffman (Drums) is also an accomplished musician who, during the beginning of Heavy Creatures, simultaneously completed his first stellar solo full length 'On The Mysterious Other'.

Be Content is the long-awaited debut album from Indoor Pets, following a string of much-loved singles for Alcopop!, East City Rockers and Wichita. Their album proper is finally ready! Produced by the band's lead guitarist and Kris Harris and mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer (Ash, Yak, Parquet Courts etc), this is a fourteen song riot of urgent, tightly crafted rock songs with endless undeniable melodies and choruses that will be stuck in your head all day long - think Weezer's debut, think Fidlar's debut - and add Kent's Indoor Pets to that list of classic first albums.
