Customers commend the Energy Star 50-Pint Dehumidifier's performance and quiet operation, with many noting its effectiveness in reducing humidity and ease of use. However, some users experienced issues with the pump's noise level and the durability of the water bucket. The pump's functionality was a point of contention for several customers.

I only gave this 3 stars because although it removes plenty of moisture from the air the pump doesn't work. Customer service (not Honeywell by the way) says that a washer is missing. I'm still waiting for this washer. Perhaps after I get it I'll revise this review.

It does a good job of removing moisture from the air. The pump works but is noisy. Because the pump removes water from the top of the bucket, the pump runs frequently. I have another dehumidifier like this one which has been in use for over a year. The problem I found is that the bucket needs to be manually emptied fairly often to avoid the build up of black scum in the bucket (which will block the pump intake. I didn't realize that this was a problem until the pump stopped working. Lastly, the plastic line (used to pump the water to a drain) that comes with the unit is coiled up (for shipping) so it fits in the bucket. The problem is that is impossible to straighten it out completely. So don't expect it reach the full 15 feet.

Honeywell should stick to making industrial & HVAC products. This poorly manufactured product is one I regret buying. It leaked water out of the box, which was due to the water-tank having a badly seamed/molded bottom. I used a patch & resin-adhesive to repair it. After the 1st season, the pump stopped working, but when it did work it strained to eject water to a height of 3-feet. And from day one it leaks water…A Lot of water, onto the floor. It’s not due to a leaking tank, however, but simply because of poor engineering. The way they designed the lid of the tank allows water to run off of it, instead of Into it! I have to pick up a soaked towel and change it daily. Here’s my advice…Buy A Different Brand!!!
