This hoover is another cordless stick type vac to hit the market and has some features the others don’t have. When unboxing our unit I noticed there are a lot of attachments included, more than the other ones I’ve tried, which is nice to be able to have everything you need in a single purchase. There is the normal floor sweeping head with a powered brush roll, a crevice attachment that has a nice rubber tip on it “not hard plastic” and pulling on the tip lets you extend that rubber piece a good 6”, very nice for getting deep into corners. There’s also a powered stair/upholstery attachment, “which none of the other ones we have come with”, it’s just the right size for stairs and getting pet hair out of upholstery. A very soft dusting brush and upholstery tool are also included, and the upholstery tool has a clip on attachment with rubber fingers to help remove pet hair. The flexible joint attachment is really nice to have when using overhead, you can attach it to the end of the main wand “doesn’t support supplying power” and dust the top of the ceiling fan blades pretty easily. Finally there’s a plate to attach to the wall for hanging the unit from, it’s just a plate with a hook and a spot for putting attachments. The Charger is pretty large and you have to remove the battery from the unit to charge it. When I received ours it had a full charge and was surprised by that. There isn’t any other way to charge the unit you’ll have to rely on removing the battery and putting it in the charger for about 3 hours “if completely exhausted”. After assembling the motor/canister, wand and main floor head I went around and vacuumed the hose very thoroughly. We have tile / laminate floors with area and throw rugs all with short nap so I have no idea how well this would work on deep pile carpet. I found the unit pretty quiet, quieter than our Dyson or Shark units we have. The weight of the motor/canister piece is a little heavier than the Shark and noticeably heavier than the Dyson, so take that into consideration, I didn’t bother me at all though. There are also headlights on the large power head and that makes looking for dirt “dog hair” and whatever very easy. It did a great job on the hard floors, no difference there from the other two. After going over everything really good and getting more up than I expected I went back over everything with the Shark, and to my surprised there was very little in the dust bin. That tells me the Hoover did just as good of a job as the Shark. There is an automatic mode called “FloorSense” that seemed to work really well, and that’s all I used when running this and comparing it to the others. The brush head speed does change when transitioning from hardwood to carpeted “area rugs” and you don’t have to manually change speeds like that on the Shark. It also has smart phone connectivity that’s supposed to allow you to adjust the settings on the vacuum but I haven’t tried that yet, can’t see myself trying to adjust a vacuum on my phone and running it at the same time, “a neat included feature though” and I’ll probably end up trying it out. Emptying the dust bin is pretty straight forward, just press the button on the bottom of the unit over a trash can and let the door swing open. The only problem I saw was I had let the bin get really full “probably a little too full” and had to use a pen to dig out some of the dog hair that was around the metal filter screen in the dust bin. Then nice thing is the whole dust bin comes apart for cleaning, “doesn’t do that on the Shark, but about like how Dyson does it”, and when it gets really dirty you can just wash it and the filter off in the sink. You can also remove the powered head brush roll very easily. There's slider on the side of the head and pulling that back allows you to simply lift out the brush roller, it's simpler than the others we have. In all I would say this new Hoover works really well and stands up pretty good to the other two that we have. It may be a little heavier, and I don’t think it has quite the suction power of the Shark, but once you throw in all the included accessories, features, and the lower list price then it’s really hard to beat.

The Hoover React Whole Home Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum is a good product, but it could be so much better with some simple design changes. Right out of the box, the vacuum looks a bit overwhelming; there seem to be way too many pieces. However, after a quick look at the manual, assembly is fairly straight forward and quick, and then it becomes apparent that there's actually a place for all of the attachments and pieces. The packaging states that the battery is shipped uncharged, but mine was fully charged, so after assembly, I tried it out on my living room low pile area rug. The vacuum is lightweight which is nice, and it does have nice power, but when I pulled the vacuum back towards me, it would occasionally 'bounce' like the brush was grabbing the rug and trying to pull the unit forward. I'm not sure if this was because of the style of the rug or the fact that the Floorsense feature on the vacuum seemed to be constantly changing the speed of the brush even though the unit never left the rug. I attempted to contact Hoover about this, but after 10-15 minutes of listening to a message telling me my call was important, I hung up. I then revisited the manual hoping to find some information on the problem I was having, and I discovered there was an app I could install that would allow me to customize the Floorsense feature. The app had bad reviews, but I thought I'd try it anyway... I was unimpressed to say the least. I tried everything I could think of, and the app never even saw the vacuum. Again, I tried calling Hoover, but again, after about 10 minutes, I hung up. If you're going to have phone support, don't make your customers wait! Needless to say, my first impression of this vacuum was not good. However, after a week of use, its convenience does a decent job of making up for its idiosyncrasies. I have 2 indoor cats, and this vacuum does a great job of 'de-furring' the carpets, rugs and furniture. The multitude of attachments allows you to find the right tool for the job at hand. Add to that the fact that the battery life allows the cleaning of 1-2 rooms without recharging, and the vacuum does have some bright spots. There are still some things that bother me about this unit. First, the vacuum is not free standing, and I'm not sure why since it would be fairly easy to do by allowing the main tube to lean slightly over the brush head and then have a hook on the lower front of the tube for the head of the unit to sit. I also don't like how difficult it is to remove and replace the attachments; I had hoped this would get easier with use, but so far taking the power head off or removing the main tube from the brush head takes some wiggling. One major design flaw in this respect, I believe, is the lack of a foot activated clip to release the tube from the brush head; it's annoying to have to bend over and fiddle with a thumb release when there are other examples of vacuums with foot releases. Also, the clip that allows two attachments to be held on the vacuum tends to slip and loosen while vacuuming. Again, this is such a simple fix, I'm not sure how Hoover allowed it out the door; just put some grooves in the tube and let the clip snap into them. The last thing is the power button itself. I'm not sure why they didn't just make it a simple on/off trigger instead of making you pull it twice for continuous power. Maybe it's good to have the option, but I always pull it twice. Overall, I'm kind of mixed on this vacuum. I really would love to talk to a Hoover CSR, but until I have 30 minutes to waste, I'm not going to even try. This vacuum is convenient, and it does clean very well, but it could be made SO much better with just some very simple changes. I would like to give this vacuum 3.5 stars, but since I can't I'm going to give it 4 since I do think it's better than 3. Although it might seem like I've picked this product apart, I would still recommend it just on the basis that it does a great job at cleaning.

Very nice portable machine. It seems to have good suction and is nice and light. Not having a cord is great. All the attachments work great. The small powerhead is great for stairs (see pics). The other tools are very nice as well for getting to those hard to reach places. My wife loves how easy it is to get underneath objects. It also has a light on the front to help in the darker areas. Like others have mentioned, the battery charger is a little bulkier than I expected. The only thing that is a negative in my view is that it won't stand on its own. You have to lay it down or prop against the wall when you are in the middle of cleaning. Then store against a wall with the mounted handle. Pros: Light and easy to handle Lots of attachments Good battery life Cleans well Cons: Bulky battery charger does not stand upright on it's own.

This is my review of the Hoover React Whole Home Cordless Vacuum which I was given to review. The fact that it was given to me in no way influences my rating. This is an honest appraisal of the product, which I and BestBuy believe is necessary for others to be able to make a comfortable and confident decision either to purchase or not purchase a product. I am giving this vacuum a five-star rating. I will share with you the reasons why I made this decision. I will mention something that might be improved in my opinion, but that did not take away from my decision to give this vacuum five stars. 1. The “Floorsense” technology lets the vacuum know when to run the brushroll faster or slower without the operator having to do anything. The microsensors in the bottom of the main attachment sense when there is a deeper carpet, a lighter carpet or a hard floor and adjust the brush roll accordingly. One thing I like is that our throw rugs do not get sucked up inside the brush roll. The vacuum suction stays the same, but the slower brush roll lets the rug stay put. The top of the vacuum is what they call the dashboard. Pushing the mode button engages the “Floorsense” or disengages it and either stops the brush roll but maintains the suction, or it sets the brush roll to the higher or lower speed. I disengaged the “Floorsense” and used the higher speed when doing our main living room and hallway carpet since it is such a large area of deeper carpet. Our dining room and kitchen area have ceramic tile flooring and 3 different throw rugs for which I engaged the “Floorsense.” (The Hoover App can also be used to engage or customize the brush roll and “Floorsense.”) 2. The “One Pwr” lithium battery only takes 3 hours to completely charge, but enables me to vacuum every floor in our home and still have power to spare. This explains the “whole home” aspect in the vacuum’s name, which it fully lives up to. The combination of the longer battery life, the bigger dirt cup, and the wider cleaning path make it possible. Plus, it does a great job. My wife keeps a clean home, but that dirt cup was full when I got done. We have 3 cats so there was a lot of fur in the dirt cup. Of course, along with this reason, the fact that this vacuum is cordless is a very important plus. I like not having to be concerned about running over a cord. Also, it maintains the same amount of power the entire time, even when it gets down to close to needing recharged. I must mention here that I own another cordless vacuum made by a prominent company. That vacuum needs to be placed into a high-power mode to get similar suction and performance, and then I only get 8 minutes of power. I only get 20 minutes of power in that vacuum’s lower power setting. I probably get close to 40 minutes of power with the Hoover React. That being the case, I only use that vacuum for quick, spot jobs. The Hoover React lasts at least 2 times longer than the other vacuum’s low setting and the React has an equivalent, continuous power equal to the other vacuum’s higher setting. 3. I only need to squeeze the trigger once to start the vacuum and give it a 2nd squeeze to get continuous power. It turns off then with another single tap of the trigger. My other cordless vacuum requires me to squeeze the trigger continuously to maintain power and my hand gets tired. 4. The “Windtunnel Surge” captured a lot of dirt and fur as I mentioned earlier. There is a filter that catches very fine dust as well. Some of the fur covered the filter about ¾ of the way through our home and the “clog” light began blinking. I was not sure why it was blinking at first, but I narrowed it down to the filter. The vacuum sensed the slight decrease in the suction. It was simple to remove and shake off the dust and fur. I was grateful that it is that sensitive, otherwise I would continue vacuuming at a less effective level of suction. 5. The series that I received contained most of the attachments that go with the Hoover Whole Home React cordless vacuum. If that is within your price range I would recommend considering it. There is a deluxe crevice tool that has a rubber, flexible, extension that is great for those hard-to-reach areas and, being rubber, will not scratch or mark your furniture. The powered, stair attachment does a great job on the steps and has a brush roll in it but is made for the stairs. The dust brush does a great job on my desk and other areas. I can remove the extension wand which is used for stand-up cleaning or overhead cleaning and attach the angle tool and then the dust tool or the stair tool or the upholstery tool for easier use at an angle. The upholstery tool has a rubber attachment that picks up tons of fur and can be removed to reveal a microfiber for those stubborn spots. These attachments serve a purpose but are not necessary to experience a great vacuum. Overall, I am very impressed in a positive way with this vacuum. There is one thing that I think could be better. The wand is somewhat difficult to separate from the main body of the vacuum. The attachments are easy once you get the wand off the main body and the main brush roll off the wand. These are the places where the power is connected so I don’t know if they can be made easier to separate or not. I am soon to be 65 years old, so I do not have the strength that I did even 10 years ago. At first, I thought the Hoover App was not really appropriate for this vacuum, but it actually can be as far as using it to keep track of maintenance and customizing the brush roll and “Floorsense.” Other than those couple of minor issues I think this vacuum is a worthy investment.

The suction works fantastic! The filter does not empty into discharge cup. Dog hair gets caught and stuffs up filter. Calling Hoover to replace or refund.

Hoover REACT Whole Home Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum Cleaner The first thing I noticed when the vacuum arrived was how heavy the box was. Knowing this is a cordless model, the shipping weight was a bit of a surprise. Figuring out how to open the box took longer than actually putting the unit together. Also, the box is paced with pieces on both sides of the formed inner piece, not all on top as one might expect. You need to charge the battery when before you first use it, they say let it go for 3 hours but the charger showed a full charge within an hour. With a full charge, I set out to vacuum my apartment. You have to hit the trigger twice to keep the vacuum running, otherwise you have to hold the trigger continuously. The battery had enough power to clean my whole apartment and it was really nice not being tethered by a cord. The FloorSense technology sounds good and works sometimes. I found it kept switching while I was cleaning. I think it’s one of those features that sounds good on paper but really, just let me control the brush roll myself. Speaking of controlling the vacuum, the phone app is a waste of time. It gives you the same brush controls as you find on the handle unit and takes you to the hoover site to purchase replacement parts. I guess if you were programming a robot vacuum it might be ok but you are not missing anything if you don’t bother with it. I would have rather they reduce the cost of this vacuum than worry about an app. Also, in case you were wondering, it does connect to the unit via Bluetooth and the unit has to be running to connect. There are two headlights on the brush which cast a yellow glow and they don’t cover the whole width of the brush which is a little confusing when looking for dirt or the vacuum path. The React Whole home vacuum comes with a smaller power brush head for stairs which is also great for couches and chairs. This is larger than some of the other power heads, similar to the size of a dirt devil. There are a host of other tools as well to make this a well-rounded whole house cleaner. It works well on bare floors with the brush roll at low speed. For all the great things the Hoover React has to offer, the biggest setback for me is the design of the dust cup. To empty it, you simply press the unlock button, the flap pops open and the dirt falls out. Except, all the dirt and fibers that don’t. This is my biggest problem with the Hoover React cordless. The dust bin does not come off the unit, rather the battery and motor head pop off but the dust cup stays attached to the pole. When you take the motor head off, you then need to pop out the filter and insides to brush off the fibers that stick to the screen, and you need to do this with EVERY empty. For a vacuum that is meant for pets, this is the least friendly feature and enough for me to say no. The vacuum comes with a holder that needs to be attached to a wall. The React cordless will stand on its own leaning against a wall if its on carpet providing some friction. If its on a bare floor, you need to attach the holder otherwise the unit will slide down and end up on the floor. Conclusion The Hoover REACT Whole Home Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum Cleaner is a very capable cleaner and can tackle just about any part of your home you put it to. Run-time lives up to its 30-minute rating and the battery recharges in just a few hours. My biggest issue is how it handles the dirt and dumping it. I understand having to deep clean the dust container occasionally, I have a Dyson and a few other bag less vacuums, but every time you use the Hoover is a bit too much. Also make the dust cup easer to remove and separate from the whole cleaner. I love the many attachments and versatility and would recommend it if the dust bin issue and headlights were re-thought. As purchased, I cannot recommend the Hoover REACT Whole Home Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum Cleaner and feel there are better options available at a lesser cost point.

I am pretty impressed with the features of this Hoover React cordless vacuum. In the box you have so many attachments that you won't be disappointed at all. You get a crevice tool (that has an innovative rubber tip that extends and bends further for very hard to reach places), a dusting brush, upholstery tool, a pet upholstery tool (rubber tipped attachment for the upholstery tool), a powered stair tool, and a pivoting extension for reaching high shelves and allows you to bend it so that you can reach a flat surface high up. Also included is a neat storage system. The dirt cup is very large and can easily handle a large area to clean....and along with that is a battery that seems to last forever. I struggled to use the whole battery to clean my 2300 sq foot house and stairs. I had to clean a few rooms a couple of times. I think if you had a house up to 3500 sq ft you would be ok with this little vacuum. As a bonus, you can remove the battery and charge it so you can easily add a second battery and have it on the charger just in case you have a huge mansion to clean. All the extra attachments are in addition to the wonderful powered head that has a few LED headlights to light your way. This vacuum makes it super easy to clean under tables ,chairs, and beds that are about 3 inches from the ground and you have a pretty long reach to get underneath them. You can connect to the Hoover app that will let you know the battery remaining, maintenance tips/reminders, ability to turn off the roller for different floor types among other things. The "FloorSense" technology didn't seem to work that great for me. I have a low pile carpet and at times it would slow down the roller as if it was a hard smooth floor. Not a big deal and you can disable that feature if you want to. I also found the trigger button on the vacuum a little odd to get used to. It takes about a half a second to actually start up when you pull the trigger, but if you click the trigger twice, it will stay on and that worked better for me. Over all, with the amount of dirt that it can hold, the long battery life, the ridiculous amount of attachments, and the coolness factor, I can recommend this to my friends and family. I didn't mention the weight though, it is a bit on the heavy side so using this to clean up high will not be that easy. Clean up is also very easy.

The setup of the Hoover React vacuum was quick and painless. All the connectors are clearly labeled making it easy to skip the instruction booklet if you deem it so. The key feature of this vacuum is that it has a sensor that determines the type of floor you are using it on. It will determine the power of the suction needed based on whether it is being used on a hard surface or a soft one, like carpet. Another good feature is the quick-charging battery. It comes pre-charged, but takes only 3 hours to charge for a long period of use. As per the booklet, the battery shouldn’t experience draining with multiple charges. A third useful feature is the ability to clean quick messes by just holding the trigger down instead of double-clicking, so as to only use it for about 10 seconds or less. The performance of this vacuum is good. The suction is powerful on both, carpet and on hard floor surface. It was able to pick up pet hair, human hair, debris, and dead insects that were under the bed. It has front lights that help when vacuuming in dark areas like under a couch to see if you missed a spot. Compared to a different stick vacuum, this one gave me more resistance when moving the vacuum forward. The vacuuming motion wasn’t a smooth experience. Instead, it felt as if i was constantly pushing the vacuum forward and pulling it with more force than expected as opposed to letting it glide back and forth. The wheels didn’t move forward automatically. As a result, I am deducting 1 star. The vacuum meets my expectations but does disappoint in the fact that I couldn’t get it to glide and instead was met with resistance. I did enjoy the ease of dumping the debris with one click of a button. The filter needs to be rinsed after every 4-6 uses, but the dirt container is larger than normal for a stick vacuum. The price for the vacuum in terms of value is acceptable. It has many tools that can greatly expand its use. It can also convert into a hand vacuum, making it ideal to have around when washing a car. I highly recommend this product for people who want to try a stick vacuum that is powerful but not overly complicated. With automatic sensors and only 1 button to worry about, this is a great entry into the stick vacuum mode. It is also perfect for small homes or college dorms where storage space is limited.

======= Summary ======= The Hoover React Whole Home Stick Vacuum is a good, versatile vacuum system that offers a quick and convenient cleaning experience. What it lacks in power, it makes up for it with versatility, flexibility, and portability. It is a great addition to a home that already has a corded, upright vacuum cleaner. With it, one can reach areas that a traditional corded vacuum cleaner cannot reach and/or have difficult and strainful time accessing. ======= Design ======= I find the Hoover React's modular design to be attractive, clever, and very convenient. The Main Handheld unit is sturdy and ergonomically convenient to hold and operate. It weighs about 7 lbs and sort of looks like a hair dryer. The Dashboard Screen on the Handheld offers quick status updates into remaining Battery Life, whether Hoover's FloorSense technology is activated (automatic brushroll control), whether Brush Off mode is on or not, and through its Mode button, the user is given the ability to toggle FloorSense. All the on-screen functions and buttons worked well and I experienced no technical glitches or errors. The React system comes with 5 different attachments - Dusting Brush, Crevice tool, Powered Stair tool, Pet Upholstery tool, and the main Power Nozzle with WindTunnel Surge tool (with white LED lights). Other additional items include a pivoting extension, a Reach Wand, a Reach Wand storage clip, and a Wall Mount. The lithium ion battery easily slips into its charging port and the Main Handheld unit. The Dirt Cup is also very easy to snap in and pop off of the Main Handheld unit. Pressing the empty button opens the bottom of the cup and a few gentle shaking motions will let all the debris fall out into the trash can. Thick clumps of pet hair, however, will require use of your fingers to reach into the cup to pull them out. I haven't had a chance to perform any filter or brush roll maintenance but looking at the instructions in the manual, it looks simple and straightforward. If there is one thing I wish the Hoover React system included in the box, it is a carrying/holding bag or case for all the different attachments. With that said, I find the Hoover React kit to be pretty complete and encompassing for most people's cleaning needs and scenarios. ======= Performance ======= I tried out each of the attachments and they all performed very well. For my home, I personally found the Dusting Brush and Crevice Tool to be very, very useful. The Dusting Brush was used to suck up all the dust that had built up on our ceiling fans. Without making a mess or having the dust fall down everywhere, the Dusting Brush did a brilliant job sucking in the dust in a precise and clean manner. The Crevice tool was used to suck in spider webs and little debris stuck in the wall corners. We don't have carpeted stairs but the Powered Stair tool was very effective in vacuuming our car interiors. It was so convenient to be cord-free and use something lightweight to vacuum up all the cars. Four cars were cleaned and the battery lasted through the entire process with ~75% still left. As for the main Power Nozzle floor tool, I found its suction and pick-up power to be lacking when compared to my corded, upright Dyson vacuum cleaner (as expected). The Dyson uses 120 V and has 11.7 amperes running through it compared to the Hoover React's 24 V and 3 amperes. As a result, the Hoover React won't reach as deep and will have less suction power. But that's okay because the Hoover React, running on battery power and running on cord-free freedom, wasn't designed to be heavy duty. Instead, it was designed to pick up light and easy debris which it does an excellent job of. With its convenient tilt and swivel functionality, cleaning and vacuuming is a delight. The Hoover React, with its Reach Wand, allowed me to vacuum underneath my bed and other hard-to-reach places and that was an awesome thing to be able to do. No more dust bunnies forming colonies underneath the bed~!! All in all, the Hoover React fulfills its intended design and performance targets wonderfully. ======= So, is it any good? A good buy? ======= Yes and Yes. The Hoover React vacuum system - with its many attachments, decent battery life, flexibility, portability, and adequate power - will make a great addition to your home. It is no complete substitute for a powerful corded upright vacuum cleaner but it can do things that a corded upright cannot. Plus, it will save you lots of strain and time which is ALWAYS a good thing.

Since we have several animals in the house, I’m always on the look out for a tool to clean the house and get all their hair off the couches, chairs and floors. Hoover is a trusted name in the vacuum space, my parents have had Hoovers for years and continue to sing their praises. I was curious to try out the Hoover React since I really don’t like corded vacuums. My biggest issue with standard vacuums is they’re corded. I was a bit overloaded by all the additional tools that the React came with. Once I got it all set up, I was ready to test it out! I’ve used a cordless stick vacuum before, but I was really surprised by how loud the Hoover was. It was just as loud as my regular upright vacuum. The React has a feature called Floor Sense. When on a flat surface like tile, the beater brush bar doesn’t spin. When I went from the tile to the carpet, I could hear and feel the beater brush bar kick of. This is nice because I can basically turn it on and go without worrying about switching modes or changing heads. Another nice feature of the React is the ability to double click the trigger. This turns on the vacuum without the requirement to hold the trigger down. Combined with Floor Sense, this makes the React a set-it-and-forget-it cleaning option. My biggest issue with the React is the size of the charging base. It’s not discreet, it’s about the same size as a Bose Soundstation Dock. In a house where storage space for items like this is at a premium, the React’s dock basically is so big that it has to sit out. Additionally, something the React is missing compared to others is the ability to adjust the power of the suction. There are other vacuums that are not as expensive that allow you to adjust how much power the vacuum uses. I was disappointed to find out the React has one speed: on. All in all, the Hoover React is an awesome vacuum. There are a few compromises that you’ll have to contend with, such as the large battery dock and single speed. If you have a house full of pets and mixed flooring materials, the React might be the vacuum you’re looking for.

When I first got this I was very excited to use a multi purpose stick vac that was cordless. The thought of not having a cord get in the way was very appealing. My first impression of this machine was that it is quite heavy compared to my corded stick. I am not not the weakest person but my arm did get tired vacuuming the ceiling cobwebs. When using it on the floor it worked much better for my arms. The battery did last about 27 minutes which is enough for most tasks. If you are planning on doing a whole house deep clean then it will probably not go the distance.I found that it did a good job cleaning but found myself wanting to go back to my corded stick vac due to it being more light weight and easier to use. The cord did not bother me as much anymore. I even had my wife try it to see if it was just me but she agreed. It also has an app, not sure why I downloaded it as it offers almost nothing to the vacuum's experience. You can check the battery level and get tips on its use. There may have been other features but nothing worth noting. Overall I thought I would have been wowed by this vacuum but it just left more to be desired.

This is exactly what i needed for my small apartment, its compact, has a lot of accessories, light weight, and can be mounted on the wall. The accessories that come with this cordless vacuum is: Dusting Brush, Pivoting Extension, Deluxe Crevice tool, Pet Upholstery Tool, Powered stair tool, reach wand tool, and storage clip. The vacuum brush rolls also includes LED headlights (outside) if you vacuum in dark places, its a nice feature to have in a portable vacuum. It takes up to 3 hours to fully charge the vacuum and it only has up to 30 mins to 1 hour of usage, not good. I do like that it comes with a 3 year warranty from the manufacture which is a lot compared to the standard 1 year warranty. I used the dusting brush, but felt that the suction wasn't strong enough (my personal opinion). I vacuumed a couple of carpets as i have a mixture of vinyl floor and carpets and its true, this vacuum does "react" to the differences.The vacuum actually illuminates "floor sense" on the dashboard to automatically adjusts to the floor type. If i am vacuuming my carpet (which isn't thin it's kind of a thick carpeting) it gives an extra boost to the roll for better suction. I did a great job on the cleaning, i was surprised it was able to clean my thickest of carpets. When i used it on my vinyl it worked great as well, i didn't have to get the broom for those left over dust locations which is great! I did not download the app that you can use with this vacuum because i felt that i didn't need it, but may be i will later. You turn on this vacuum by either holding the trigger button (you can also turn off the vacuum by releasing the trigger button). You can also double tap the trigger button to have continuous power. I really liked the accessories that come with this vacuum. I will be using this light weight vacuum around my apartment shelves, ceiling, and to even clean up my car! Now i don't have to carry a heavy vacuum or have long extension cables just to use it outside when i'm cleaning my vehicle. The emptying of the dirt cup was so simple, just press the handheld release button and that's it. I don't have indoor pets anymore, so i can't really say on the cleaning of pet hair but the vacuum states its great for pets. This vacuum if very functional and compact enough not to take up a lot of space which is great for my studio apartment or to even carry it in my vehicle trunk.

I really wanted to love this vacuum. On paper, it has everything I wanted... bagless, a battery pack with a charging station (how awesome is it to vacuum without worrying about a cord?!), automatically detecting hard floors vs. carpets, and it's specifically selling itself as being made for homes with pets (it's in bold letters on the box!), so it should be able to deal with some dog hair, right? WRONG. Most of the things about this vacuum would be amazing if it could get that one thing right, but it doesn't. I LOVE that I can vacuum without a cord... The weight is good, maneuverability is excellent, there are some great attachments that would really come in handy, and the floor sense feature does actually seem to work really well--I can tell when it switches from the bare floor to carpet mode and although it takes a few seconds to detect (no problem), it does seem to really make a difference. However, if you run into any kind of pet hair... say a little tumbleweed of it in a corner that you've missed with the "big" vacuum... this thing will clog right away. The problem is that there is only about half an inch of clearance between the hose output into the dustbin an the filter in the middle of the dustbin. If you get a chunk of pet hair or something coming through the hose it does not have any room to actually feed into the dust bin. It gets stuck right away between the wall of the dust bin and that filter and you have to stop and actually use a chopstick or something to clear the clog, because the clearance is so small, I can't even fit my little kid fingers in there. It's a real pain and just makes me want to use my regular vacuum and just pull out the attachments on that. It's faster than having to stop and clear clogs every couple of minutes that wouldn't even slow my regular vacuum down. If you're not dealing with pet hair (pass this by if you have pets!), this DOES work well for your average dust and debris. It worked great in the kitchen and on hard floors. It did definitely detect the difference between hard floors and carpets and change modes. I love the fact that there is a charging station for the battery, and you don't have to plug the whole vacuum in like in the old days of cordless vacuums... that is really nice. But again... this CANNOT handle pet hair. At all.

We are a family that has two cats and a dog. This vacuum worked very well for picking up the pet fur. It also cleaned the hardwood along with the carpets with ease given its ability to adapt to different surfaces. It is light weight and maneuvers easily. The small head fits in areas that our other vacuum does not. It swivels nicely around corners. We really like the automatic sensor that switches depending on what type of surface you are cleaning. Other vacuums you need to switch the buttons depending on if it is hardwood, thin carpet or thick carpet. The lights on the head and handle make it easy to see things that might normally be missed on the floor. The fact that the vacuum is cordless, makes it very easy to get around and not be fighting with the cord. The charging dock is nice and the battery seems sturdy and a good size. The vacuum comes with a hanging bracket for ease when putting away. It takes up much less space than a normal sized vacuum would. While the vacuum is very light, it does not seem as solidly made as it could be and therefore I worry a little about how long it might last. But so far so good. I do wish it came with a bag for all the accessories. We put them in a bag we already had so not really so much of an issue. We hope to have this vacuum for many years to come.

Really like this vacuum. Great suction and battery charges quickly and lasts plenty. Only gripe is that emptying the container is not as easy as just opening the door. It can get clogged and is small enough that it is hard to get hand in to empty. Still, overall I really like it and it was a good value (got is on sale for half off).

I’ve been using the Hoover React cordless stick vacuum for a week or so and have been very impressed with the cleaning power and battery life. I can vacuum the entire upstairs of my home (3 bedrooms, large bonus room, 2 bathrooms and laundry room) at least twice without recharging. The smaller head size lets me get into places my larger corded vac simply can’t get to. The self-changing motor speed depending on the surface being cleaned took a few minutes to get used to, but it seems to adjust the suction appropriately and quickly as flooring types change between rooms. The multitude of attachments (including my favorite the powered stair head) make this a formidable tool in my cleaning arsenal. My dog doesn’t shed a lot but the power of this machine leads me to believe pet hair wouldn’t be a match for it. Having a large dust reservoir means emptying doesn’t have to constantly be on your mind (I’ve had other battery vacs with small bins that would fill and clog very fast). While it’s not as powerful as my corded vacuum from the big “D”, it comes reasonably close for a battery operated machine. The convenience and light weight is a trade-off for slightly less suction and that’s a sacrifice I’m usually willing to make. A couple of things I dislike about this vacuum are that it is not free-standing, making it mandatory to use the included wall mounted storage hook. The included attachment organizer that clips to the wall hook isn’t really sufficient as it will only hold 2 attachments and there are at least 5 in the box. There is a clip that supposedly lets you keep a couple of attachments handily attached to the vacuum itself, but I’ve found it doesn’t hold securely and gets annoying very quickly as it continually wants to detach. Also, the battery charger is excessively large for what it does, making the storage footprint for the machine even larger. Finally, having to either constantly hold or double tap the trigger to keep it running seems like an unnecessary requirement where a simple on/off switch would be just fine. This is my third cordless vacuum and is currently in second place as my favorite overall. If it came with a second battery pack, a smaller charging option and had a free-standing option, it would easily jump to first. However, just speaking in terms of cleaning power and ease of use, the Hoover React is tops.

I just received my Hoover React Pet Stick Vacuum and was excited to give it a try around our home. The unit was well packaged to protect all parts in the box and is easy to unbox and setup. To get started literally 3 pieces need to be snapped together and it's ready to use. I put the battery on the charger and took a cursory look through the user manual to make sure I knew all the functions and features. The battery was just about fully charged in the box as it only took about 10 minutes to reach full charge. Hoover states 3 hours for a dead battery to fully charge. Once the battery is easily snapped into place, you're ready to vacuum. The controls are pretty straight forward, the power button is a trigger and turns on the vacuum by either pulling on the trigger and keeping your finger on there or you can double tap the trigger and the unit stays powered on. There is one other switch on the unit and it handles the "mode" the unit is in...it toggles between "FloorSense" mode and "Brush Off" mode. FloorSense will automatically determine the floor type being vacuumed and will either turn the brush on or off accordingly. In "Brush Off" mode, the brush stays off to clean up hardwood or other non-carpeting floors without sending dirt and particles flying around. There is also a Battery Level indicator on the handle. After trying the unit out all around our home, I was impressed with the overall function. It worked well on carpeting and hardwood and the FloorSense mode really works well. We probably ran it for 10-15 minutes and I don't think the power level dropped at all, which bodes well for the battery life per charge. The vacuum is pretty light and easy to maneuver with a couple of small wheels and a pivoting head on the base of the unit. There are also a couple of lights that come on when in use to help see better in darkly lit corners and such. Pros: Lightweight and cordless design Good sucking power Decent sized collection bin, that's easy to empty FloorSense control Multiple adapters to allow for all sorts of uses around the house Cons: Didn't handle our shag rug very well, got a warning light and the unit tried to shut down Was a little hard to maneuver on our slate floor (might be nitpicking on this one) Build isn't quite as nice as some of the other cordless vacuums in its price range. Needs to be leaned on something or set in the cradle to stand up on its own. Overall I am really happy with this vacuum and would recommend it to anyone looking for a "portable" cordless vacuum that holds its own in almost every application. The light weight will appeal to many users.

cons: sometimes it goes into carpet mode while on the hard floor for about five seconds and then it is ok. this is only a minor distraction. Next con: Old worn floor mats with lots of fussy and loose ends cause it to declare that it is clogged up. Then you have to shut it off and but on, and all is OK. PROS; Love the even power and total vacuum time. much longer than my previous hoover. Overall, this is a great cordless vacuum.

Well one definitely get it on sale 2nd thing.I t cleans up 10 times better than any vacuum I've ever used ..only issue is that i wish there was stronger suction... But it does pick up more from my rugs than any other vacuums I've used. I dont understand this. But Its true. I see it when I vacuum.
