I like this 16 laptop here is my one day review PROS: KEYBOARD- feels roomy to type on, I like that there is no number track pad and my hands are lined up and type naturally on the keys. The keys have a nice bounce and click feel to them. I really like this keyboard feels really good to type on. To me personally I feel that that the Spectre keyboards are best in class. I am comparing to the HP Spectre 14" 1195G model that keyboard has the same nice click feel but my hands felt cramped in the smaller chassis keyboard. The fingerprint reader next to the alt and left arrow key is a nice placement does not get in the way. The top row keys have your usual volume up, down brightness up, down etc. Some new key buttons are the HP Command center button allows you to launch one of these four apps, the HP command center, OMEN Gaming Hub , My HP, HP Palette CAMERA: Had not tried to use on a video call yet it has some nice upgrades looks smoother and less grainy. Has auto zoom in feature to always track you when you are on a video call so that the viewers always see you. The Auto lock when away is a nice touch, I can walk away from my laptop and it will lock, and when I approach the laptop it will auto unlock. It has shoulder surfing which has two settings that allow the user to get a notification from the bottom when someone is looking at your screen. You can also set up the blur effect to block out the screen. The problem with that in a coffee shot setting you are not going to get much work done if there are many prying eyes passing by and looking at the monitor. I will test out this feature some more to see how it behaves. DISPLAY- the 3K screen is ok not the clearest quality of the laptop, but I can understand why they went the 3K display to save on the battery life and make it be able to be EVO certified. That is a plus feature about this laptop comparing to the Spectre 14” 1195G OLED, that display was a chonker in chewing the battery life so fast, I got 3 hours of battery life when using the 14” OLED Spectre. This new 16” laptop battery has greatly improved on the battery life. I can some hours of the laptop without having to worry about needing to be plugged in. Another plus is when I am looking at the display the screen will dim itself to conserve battery life and then resume brightness when I look at the screen again. When I step away from the laptop the screen will go dark and will not use battery life until I set back down and face the screen again to start working again. PHONE CALLS- when using the YOURPHONE app from Microsoft the person on the other end of the call said that they sounded like they were talking to me in a tunnel. I was speaking fine from the Laptop but the listener said when they were talking it sounded like a tunnel. Fans – Not always spinning but wow they are very quiet. Super quiet and hardly noticeable. The bottom surface of the laptop is cool to the touch, not warm at all. This is a first for me for the bottom to not be hot. Graphics- Laptop has Iris graphics. This model does not have the NIVIDA 3050 graphics card. The black models carry the NIVIDIA graphics card. The blue HP Spectre has the INTEL EVO – means that battery longevity is the primary focus for this model. Fast charging in 30 minutes, screen to unlock is fast as well. This lightweight laptop wakes in less than a second and powers faster media editing with the Intel Evo platform. CONS: The keyboard screen wobbles when typing on it. Feels slower than the HP Spectre 14 inch like it takes a few seconds longer to open up applications. Maybe because it is still new that it is still coming up to speed. Why is there a barrel charger on this Laptop in 2022? We now have USB-C which can charge and transfer data. They should remove the barrel charger port and use the USB-C as the main way to charge the laptop.
