Replacement 30 ppi foam filter pad set designed to remove fine debris and small waste particles as the 2nd step of mechanical filtration, helping keep aquarium water cleaner and clearer. Compatible with API Rena Filstar xP / XP-1 / XP-2 / XP-3 / XP-4 / XPS / XPM / XPL / XPXL aquarium canister filters. The open-cell foam structure traps sediment, uneaten food, decaying matter and fish waste while allowing water to flow freely for consistent circulation and reduced clogging, and it can also support biological filtration. Each pad measures 6 1/4 in x 6 1/4 in x 3/4 in. For proper installation, place the pads in the bottom filtration compartment above the 20 ppi foam pad. Rinse thoroughly before inserting, rinse using water from the aquarium, and do not replace all filter media simultaneously. Pads should be cleaned about monthly and replaced about every 3 months for ongoing filtration performance in freshwater or saltwater setups.
